Here is the thing..Just because it's in the bible doesn't make it true. In general though if you want to get along with people of various beliefs and customs it helps to have an open mind and not be judgmental.
John the baptizer is also an example of one who made judgement, and thus warned king Herod, based on what is taught in the Word(technically the Word judges / believers are the vessles). John the baptizer rebuked Harod saying it was not lawful for him to have his brother's wife. After such a rebuke, he was cast into prison, and later Harod was tricked to cut off his head because of an oath Herod made during his druken state at his birthday party, watching his niece dance seemingly erotic for him.
What about where "wicked men " (JOB 15:20) are described as "though he has covered his face with his fatness, and made his waist heavy with fat" (JOB 15:27) ??
Gee , I bet you have your own interpretation on that one too huh?
Go have your din din ....you dont know what youre talking about !~
Proverbs 23:20-21 "Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags."
Proverbs 23:2 "And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite."
Even if we don't verbalize our jugements, we DO have the Holy Spirit and experience-based perception, as well as the scriptures to show us what is happening with a person. It's not rocket science.
Thats all well and good...however just as you said...if you yourself are judging someone...you better be perfect yourself...and we all know how perfect humans are. So regardless, no one has the right to judge because we all sin in some way. Just because I judge someone because they rape a kid, doesn't mean GOD won't forgive them...so whats the point if they can just ask for forgivness...pretty syupid if you ask me
Good Video ! This also in Matt 7:2 deals with judging what the punishment should be. There is a great story of this in 2 Sam. 12:1-11 which includes hypocrisy on the part of King David. However he repents, now read verses 12 to 14. Althought David's judgement was to kill the transgressor and so David according to the principle in Matt. 7:2 deserved death he found mercy because he repented.
You are right on we need to judge by the bible using scripture in context. False teaching abounds.
12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."
So let he who is without sin cast the first stone. To his own master he stands or falls, Rom14. False teaching is the theme of Matt7, so those who claim "fruitbearing" is the criterion of being a "true" Christian, is flat wrong, as the chapter is on fruit of TEACHING. So legalists who use Matt7:1-2 as LICENSE to judge will 7:2's 'reward'. Triple Compound Discipline? LOL count me out. Discernment & doctrinal debate, exposition, yes; personally judging & rebuking someone, uh-uh.
Thank you! I'm so tired of Christians telling us NOT to judge. The Lord DOES NOT want us to NOT discern. People DO have to start reading the Bible in context.
~ Exactly, that is how i have always understood it but basically everyone I know takes it the wrong way, Good vid and very blunt and to the point G_G~
I am glad you have posted this message. This is the number ONE thing that people throw at me when I say anything. It doesn't matter the sin, this is the most used, yet misused verse in the scriptures. However, lets not forget to aproach them with charity. And if it's a sin against us, let us be willing forgive.
Amazing, this guy is probably one of the very few that have ever spoken correctly about "judge not ..." Its staggering how many people, including christian, have no idea what it means. I've said many of the things he is saying, I like this guy, he is a christian, a real one. God Bless you brother, looking forward to seeing you one day, in glory. GREAT MESASAGE!

How does this tie in with what the Bible says about us seeing another Christian bro/sis doing wrong and telling them about it?
