@jimbobucky Yeah, and 2006 was also the year Florida won the first of its two national championships under Urban Meyer. Ever since Tim Tebow graduated, the Gators have returned to their Ron Zook ways. The way they got wasted by Alabama and LSU over the last two weeks is embarrassing.
@jimbobucky I have a question for you as a Cal fan: do you think Jeff Tedford has been an underachiever? It seems like the Bears are producing great talent, at least on the offensive side, every single year. Yet, Cal hasn't had a great season since 2004 when they went 11-2 and should have been in the Rose Bowl. I think Tedford is still a solid coach, but I was wondering your thoughts.
@Poole1Dan I think Tedford has underachieved, but as long as we're making bowl games, I'm happy. I'm proud of his players like Aaron Rodgers, Jahvid Best, and lots of others and hopes he keeps producing talent.
@jimbobucky Hmm. Ok. Tedford will definitely keep producing talent. Rodgers and Desean Jackson were his best players, but so many others have gone on to the NFL that Tedford won't have a problem recruiting great talent to Berkley. The expectations of Cal fans are obviously different. Here in Ann Arbor, we expect Michigan to contend for the national title year in and year out. Dickrod was fired because he went an abominable 15-22, and only 6-18 in Big Ten play.
That USC game was the beginning of the end. I thought OSU outplayed UM, but I thought SC outcoached UM. UM was the better team, but I felt like Carroll was buying time. Once the second half started, they spread us out and chucked the ball around
we would have been able to keep up with USC if Carr and Debord had let Henne air it out the entire second half like Sarkisian let Booty air it out. USC knew their running game wasn't going anywhere, so they abandoned it in the 2nd half and dared our secondary to stop them. we should have done the same thing to USC's secondary, cause they sure as hell couldn't stop our passing game either. ):
those last two games were heartbreakers man and last years season i was crushed to c them lose their 2 biggest games i hope we can atleast beat ohio state this year or the next so they can stop bragging about how they beat us 5in a row
an amazing season. if we could of finished it off it would of been spectacular, but still an awesome season to watch. even though it finished bad, we still had a great season
You gotta wonder what could have happened if we came out in the spread against USC like we did against Florida a year later. I've gotta think we could have had at least a fighting chance. Henne just really looked good and was able to use all of his weapons and Mike Hart had more space to run. Just a thought.
Even I have to say how good that scUM team was in 2006. They gave us all we could handle in that last game. Then we both go out and get beat up in our bowl games, lol
Ah, 2006. The year USC, ND, and Michigan were still powerful.

@Poole1Dan Yeah. I have a feeling the LSU game could've been closer if Brantley was playing. My favorite team is Cal, but Michigan is AWESOME

That was a great rebound season despite
the last two games. Notice that when
Bo died, right before the o state game
Michigan died a little too.

Tell me about it. Michigan is only 17-21 since Bo Schembechler died. ):

I went to the Alamo Bowl, and I was thinking why didn'y Ecker pitch the ball when he was nearing the sidelines... Lol oh well still fun.
Amaizenblue86 3 years ago
i thought the exact same thing when i was watching it on tv, they would have won if he either pitched it or waited for his blockers
