The problem that all O/S develop over time is SOFTWARE BLOAT.

It comes from 1. Software you don't need. 2. Spyware& Viruses 3. O/S updates to counter said spyware and virus. 4. Ram that is over full because of all of the above. To get away from this

you need a clean fresh start from time to time. The lesson is: A clean lean O/S is best.

Keeping your O/S free of junk will make it run happier longer. Don't buy junk you don't need.

Windows 9x is always faster since it's a shitload of crap compared to any other recent OS.

1st of I don't believe you have enabled networking on Win95.

2nd the Win7 would be able to do sleep mode, while Win95 has got almost no power settings

3rd this list goes on and on and on.

If you wan't fast and reliable (Not win9x, which is unreliable shit)

AND all features available on the market.

Go download Linux and learn a little about gr8 computing.

I don't see anything suprising here at all.

Windows 95 first edition had ~ 50 MB with every option installed.

Windows 95c had ~ 150 mb with everything installed.

In contrast, i have never seen a routine install of Win7 that was below 10 GB right after install, it's closer to 15 GB most of the time.

So tell me, how is it any surprise that you can boot an OS that is roughly 100 to 300 times smaller faster on a computer thats only rougly 20 times slower then the other
