That is some crazy shit. I'd be worried about hearing loss. I've always been paranoid about it. One day I will put my old school stereo back to use.My goal would be to have a nice, balanced sounding system with SQ being the primary goal. Got an Orion 225 HCCA, 250 HCCA and an, Audiocontrol 2XS to put back in use. Would probably just go with a pair of sealed 10" for the bass. Not sure about the front end. I'd want to keep it simple. I guess I'm old school :)

About hearing loss; when listening to sounds above 120dB (probably 130dB for lower frequencies 50Hz-)

your hearing is slowly damaged, BUT if you only listen to it REALLY loud for short periods of time, you should be alright... as Steve has said a few times, his hearing is perfectly fine... I think it is because he usually only does demos LOUD, other times he just has it bumping a little bit.

Theres charts online to see how long you can listen to a sound without damage.

I guess a bass CD without much high frequency content is safer than say a normal piece of music played loudly...like a normal dance track or say...ACDC or something. Well i'm sure I wont be getting too loud in the car anyway because those amps I've got wont even be seeing low impedences. I know totally defeats the purpose of having those vintage 'cheater' amps if I'm 4 and 8 ohm drivers :) .
