I never knew he recorded music until a few days ago when I got bored & read his wiki page. I was expecting nothing but hate songs, a wretched voice, & a big pile of shit. I was SHOCKED when I actually liked a lot of his music. He's a great folk musician. I mean, I disagree with ALL of his actions and speeches, but as a musician, he's good. I feel hypocritical listening to him though =/ But I look at music blindly, if you have something good to say, then I'll listen to you. Ehh.
@elginxxxman good point, but whether or not evil really exists will always be debatable. It's subjective, there isn't any concrete evidence of it. I don't think we'll break any new ground on a youtube video, but If Manson and men like Jim Jones have taught us anything its that the real 'evil' starts with the idea, not the murdering. I think the biggest example today is the Westboro Baptist church. While they haven't killed anyone, we can agree that what they stand for is just as wrong.
@7drift0king2 Actually, Manson had a really messed up childhood due to a mother who never cared for him and a bible-beating aunt. It is rare when killers are originally born with these issues, it is usually imprinted on them by their surroundings. The only exception I would consider would be Dahmer, other than his mother, his family was pretty normal. But he had issues in his youth which were never addressed. I have two books I must suggest, Helter Skelter and Killers in Cold Blood.
It's strange, I don't know what to make of him or his life . . . . he has a beautiful voice, ironically angelic. I just don't why he had to become what he became. Personally, I believe he's a product of nurture over nature, but that's as good as I can say about him. This song actually elicits some mercy from me, at the end of the day I just think it's a shame, he had a lot to offer the world, but he took from it instead.
@elginxxxman im glad humans are evolving characters, we all didn't come to earth as the one we are now and therefore we should not judge people of who they are rather than how they become.... of course there are exceptions, but thats my view of life.
@mostinsane88 How they become . . . I think I understand, can you explain it a little more though? Do you mean things that have influenced them or made them who they are? I understand Charles had some things that would've contributed to his, well, character.
@elginxxxman There are 3 kinds of people in this world. People who make shit happen. People who watch shit happen. And people who say, "what the fuck has happened."
Manson and actually many psychological books confirm that everyone is born with evil. Some higher than others, but there is evil.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE is what causes some people to act the way they do. (exclude mental evaluations.)
I would never kill a man unless you killed someone I love. I wouldn't hesitate. Am I crazy?
@7drift0king2 No, I could easily kill too if that happened. Evil can even be purely situational - circumstances and factors can lure it out. I don't know what I believe in terms of fate, but you'd think that if there are powers that be, they would make sure Charles didn't become 'evil' and wind up incarcerated, so that he could make records. It would seem more worthwhile that he be a musical legend rather than a criminal legend.
@elginxxxman But I do comprehend that human beings have a universal capacity for evil, however hidden. I know a woman who tried to kill her step father and got very close (poison), and yet she's really a very normal, docile person. I can't say that given a motive such an action would be beyond me. Does it make me a danger to society at large? Not any more so than the next girl. But then there are those strange cases, where there are seemingly no motives - or at least that we can see. Pure evil.
And then you read about the heinous murders of Sharon Tate, Jay Seibring, the Lo Biancos and everyone else and it just breaks your heart, you know? He orchestrated all that!
I love Charlie, it's not a gay love. It's a family love. He makes alot of sence to me. I've never been a succes at anything either, I was never told I was going to be a succes, so I don't care about being a succes.
i feel weird listening to it but yet again its on repeat man his voice is so rad. just enjoy the music and not think about how much of a fuckhead he is.
@MattyPolish That's exactly how i felt hahahaha. I actually really enjoy the song and his voice is awesome...but I feel guilty enjoying the song hahahaha

It is not quite humane what people are doing; putting this insane looking picture together with his music, and making fun of a sick troubled person.

Wow... Devendra Banhart really is just a knock off of Charles Manson.
He's covered some Manson songs... but until hearing this song, I didn't know that he he copied Manson's jittery vibrato from this track.
