Essentially, internal combustion engines were designed to have forced induction to perform at maximum efficiency. Look at WRC cars, a 2 litre, 4 cylinder turbo motor, without restriction that can output over 600hp and MASSIVE torque. Rotary engines are the most efficient cube for cube but that's a different story. The 787B is kick ass!
@papapetad Not saying turbos/forced induction aren't great for making power, because that's what they do. But a proper driver's car, to me, has a free-flowing intake and exhaust. Induction roar is a hell of a sound. Throttle response is something truly missed on turbo cars, I've owned one before. I just don't like straight-line racing. It is boring.

@skillz1855 How do we know if the Supra guy can't shift faster. Looks like the Supra guy didn't want to spin off the road so he let it lag. There is a video here of a GT-R pulling a cammed Z06 about as bad as this lambo pulled the Supra. Run them both from a 60 or 70 roll and see the difference.
im a very huge fan of the supra, but i doubt its his shifting. everbody says its the shifting when the supra faces something. The lambo has 4WD and has loads more traction off the line than the Supra. The big power supra will be handicapped by the drive train. Its nothing to do with the shifting technique.
Some people need learn about cars before they make dumb statements. A ricer excuse is "my clutch is slipping". Not my RWD Supra that makes around 200 more crank horsepower than your quarter million dollar AWD Lambo, is having trouble with traction on a WET runway. On a dry surface it wouldnt even be a race. That Lambo runs mid 12's in the quarter mile. Where as a Supra with that power can easily hit the 10's. Especially with a stroked 3.4 that can rev up to over 10,000 rpm

Traction is the main factor here. That Supra is putting down a lot more power to the ground then that Lambo. But with the ground being wet like that, a Supra with that much power isn't going to get any traction at all. Didn't anyone else hear the Supra feathering the throttle, trying to get the tires to stop spinning? Traction is the only reason why the less powerful All Wheel Drive Lambo won. Not engine setup pfft. On a dry day with traction, the Supra would walk away from the Lambo.
they did a wrong enginesetup and created a huge fall from the turbo... with a bigger powerband and even 50 hp less you can kill the lambo... hp's isn't always the only solution to be fast... it's better to build a highly responsive engine with a smaller turbo and adjustable valvetiming for a perfect ride... but i guess this guy wasen't thinking about it when he installed his turbo... powerband, powerband powerband ! smaller turbo, and adjustable valvetiming....

Yous guys at m5 board either add more HP to the supras that race in the description, or aren't telling us if the cars their racing are stock or not..
My supra makes 640hp AT THE CRANK, and i run 10.6 1/4 miles.. a stock LP-560 runs like mid 11's with a good drive..
If this is a supra with 650RWHP (700+bhp) it should be walking all over this lambo..

@floridabowhunter what do you mean built for speed? they are both sports cars and built for speed. maybe the lambo has better aerodynamic, but as far as the power goes, the supra can be modded to the same level or more. also, traction is not an issue here, because they started from a roll speed. I think the supra wasn't making 646whp as it claims to be.

another AWD vs RWD race, obviously teh awd tires arent going to slip, its not the drivers fault, tire spin is going to happen anyways with 640 RWHP, AWD cars will always have a better start, but then again thats all AWD cars are good for

Thats the whole fun of racing, regardless if its fun or for actual competition, its always about who has the faster car and whos the better driver.
I constantly have fun runs in my rx7 with my buddies in their Evos, Supras, Civic Si's etc..... i may not be the fastest in a straight line, but i can stay with the better of them, and they cant touch me in the corners with my autocross setup and experience

@skillz1855 How do we know if the Supra guy can't shift faster. Looks like the Supra guy didn't want to spin off the road so he let it lag. There is a video here of a GT-R pulling a cammed Z06 about as bad as this lambo pulled the Supra. Run them both from a 60 or 70 roll and see the difference.

im a very huge fan of the supra, but i doubt its his shifting. everbody says its the shifting when the supra faces something. Its cause its so HEAVY, if it went down to like maybe 1100kg then it could keep up. it probably weighs 1500kg right now and plus lamborghini awd. so it kinda dosent have a chance anyway.

The lambo has 4WD and has loads more traction off the line than the Supra. The big power supra will be handicapped by the drive train. Its nothing to do with the shifting technique.

Some people need learn about cars before they make dumb statements. A ricer excuse is "my clutch is slipping". Not my RWD Supra that makes around 200 more crank horsepower than your quarter million dollar AWD Lambo, is having trouble with traction on a WET runway. On a dry surface it wouldnt even be a race. That Lambo runs mid 12's in the quarter mile. Where as a Supra with that power can easily hit the 10's. Especially with a stroked 3.4 that can rev up to over 10,000 rpm

Max2k1 is right!!! The wet pavement is why the Gallardo was able to win. Your drag racing an All Wheel Drive Gallard against a Rear Wheel Drive Supra. I knew before the race started that the Supra would loose because it wouldn't be able to get any traction. Its not because he can't shift!!! He is feathering the throttle and short shifting, trying to get the rear wheels to hook up like Max2k1 said. Why do people think because a car is expensive, it cant loose? A stock Z06 can beat a Gallardo

Traction is the main factor here. That Supra is putting down a lot more power to the ground then that Lambo. But with the ground being wet like that, a Supra with that much power isn't going to get any traction at all. Didn't anyone else hear the Supra feathering the throttle, trying to get the tires to stop spinning? Traction is the only reason why the less powerful All Wheel Drive Lambo won. Not engine setup pfft. On a dry day with traction, the Supra would walk away from the Lambo.

they did a wrong enginesetup and created a huge fall from the turbo... with a bigger powerband and even 50 hp less you can kill the lambo... hp's isn't always the only solution to be fast... it's better to build a highly responsive engine with a smaller turbo and adjustable valvetiming for a perfect ride... but i guess this guy wasen't thinking about it when he installed his turbo... powerband, powerband powerband ! smaller turbo, and adjustable valvetiming....
