One of the reasons they run their locomotives like that is because if they have a problem with the lead engine they can change them around and use the second unit as a lead locomotive. I have done that a few times in my career as a Locomotive Engineer
I liked it when the train crossed the bridge, that was neat to see the train go across that bridge. Also, the lead locomotive had a sweet K5LA horn too. I like the K5LA horn.
This is the Empire Builder starting in St. Paul, MN. It goes along Highway 61/10 thru St. Paul, Newport, Cottage Grove and ending on the east (geographic south, river west) side of the Mississippi River in Hastings, MN.
