  • I am a lost little girl , R.I.P Jim Morrson will always miss u (1943-1971)

  • volar por el tiempo por siempre.....

  • i Love jim douglas ♥

  • 5 people need to get lost

  • It's strange but for the recording of the vocals on this track Pamela was giving Jim a blowjob, haha.

  • @UltraRockSounds oh yeah?

  • @Ghislaine909 for sure. It's in his bio. Now how can one listen to this song the same way the same way after knowing this? lol

  • Me Gustas! (^_^)

  • Happy Birthday Robby!!! <3

  • Today, on Ray and Robby's website, I noticed a large section of photos, descriptions, and a few videos describing the many places around L.A. connected to the Doors, such as motels, their offices, homes, etc.

  • Me encanta esta canción... muy linda

  • this is my all time fave doors tune ever. its a beautiful song. some people like the doors cos of morrison, i like em coz of thier songs. and this is testament to that.

  • If you don't understand the words then you are not experienced. (Haven't tripped)

  • I like the voice, music and feel, but I don't understand what the words mean. Would someone please let me know?

  • the meaning behind it is the fact that the parents (little girls) would always run off with jim and he is basically rubbing it in there face who are you cause im jim morrison

  • Reminds me of beer and cards

  • damn the doors were way ahead of their time like all of their music would still be appealing to everyone maybe even the fags completely fixated on pop waiting for the new britney spears or whatever shit theyre listening to these days jim was a walking revolution and by that i mean whatever time he was in and whatever situation he would make a revolution out of it really makes you think about what kind of music he would make now certainly whatever it would be it would be revolutionary. rip jim

  • I love this song :)

  • christ, if he could have spelled it right at least

    "YOU'RE"

    goddamnit

  • Doug Lubahn played a mean part on bass---a line he contributed for this particular Door's song. Again, a nice minor key descending scale that works great in both the verses and chorus.

  • A BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • i luv the chorus,,

    The doors forever!!!

  • I always wished the jewel of a guitar solo on this song was longer. One of the most beautiful, magical, and brief guitar solos I have ever heard.

  • singinjohnny, I wholeheartedly agree. Great song in general. I think the shift in atmosphere the band creates in the guitar solo is pure musical orgasm! I learned how to play it on guitar a long time ago and play it every once in awhile for a warm-up and for my own entertainment purposes (I throw on a bit of amp reverb and lots of delay to get that cool, mysterious Krieger sound). Hey y'all, go check out the Common Thrill's song "Whiskey Glow"---nice tune. The Doors forever!

  • Pure musical orgasm is splendidly put! I never quite got the solo down. But then I really haven't practiced it and really need to do this. Ah yes, amp reverb! This is really one of the best effects to play electric guitar with. It's also interesting that they used a guest musician, Douglas Lubhahn to play electric bass on this album. And it's most prominently displayed in this song.

  • Great song

  • weird e momories, stange vibes

  • Brings back so many memories, played this song at my sisters wake when she died...

  • I love this song......

  • To post and speak about what you don't know is an obvious sign of obfuscation...If you don't like Jim Morrison go fuck your mother...is that simplistic enough for you..or am I still being to abstruse..???

  • well, this was actually written by robby keriger

  • everyone knows that r u retarded lol

  • abstruse? I think you may mean obtuse?

  • @PhilosophicalViking - Sweety, some people just have the T-Shirt. LOL Then there are those of us with the tattoo!! LOL

  • @dannonforbes Morrison was a brilliant but rude MF, fascinating to play with like the serpent, but also one who could cause you to lose your soul; and if you tried to imitate him, arrogance and haughtiness followed, he thumbed his nose at God, and may be paying for it now, but what a legacy and body of work, undeniably influential. I knew a women who was one of his many loves, she too had the mark he left,...distant, beautiful, exotic and lustful. I wanted her but she was entirely unsuitable.

  • @TheEldoradoKid ?????lose your soul???i think his talent revealed you to yourself.

  • @Ghislaine909 Nope, still got my soul right in my pocket, it's not lost for sure... But of course Morrison was very revealing to people, he touched darkness as well as brilliance. We are all sinners and he capitalized on that and turned people inside out. Spiritually he had no fear of mans institutions or even of the Almighty Himself, which is foolishness. Even the wisest man can learn from the most humble individual. The reckless will lose every time. Meeting "Teri" showed me what he could do.

  • @TheEldoradoKid amen, jim always had an insite to what the real deal was about what the world was realy about, there were and always will be others that will never ever have a clue as to what is realy going on around them or for that matter what is realy in front of them. to this day i still realy understand what jim was saying. peace brother

  • @angelo062367 What's wierd is grew to "know" about Jim Morrison by not only dating someone he knew, but also through what I call "terrestrial osmosis" or literally picking up vibes from places he had been. I grew up about 15 miles from the location near Santa Clara Pueblo in northern New Mexico, where he witnessed as a boy, that tragic car accident he said caused the spirits of the recently killed Indians to "jump" into his body. His lyric: "Blood is the rose of mysterious union" is revealing..

  • @PhilosophicalViking hey bro, i get what you are saying, i have read the book noone here gets out alive, at least 17 times man and it is a great book and i own the book riders on the storm that was written by john densmore and i have to say that both books are totaly awesome and i am a big doors fan and the song that realy hits the nail on the head, is a feast of friends, it is the most awesome way saying how you one mintue you are alive and the next you are dead, live life to the fullest. amen

  • and niether are you my friend

  • jim was no doubt a lyrical genius, just that some assholes r too dumb to understand what hes even trying to say

  • and neither r u whore

  • Jim Morrison did not want to be known as a rockstar, hes an amazing poet. The doors is such a great band.

  • love always has an object, which of necsity, most be something that lover lacks

  • i fell in love with the album this song is on one night when i was trpping on acid...

  • HAPPY B-DAY JIM<3r.i.p

  • happy bday jim

  • Good memories, i just found this album when i was 13, heard it, and got addicted to the doors forever, till the day i die.

Im now 24 and im still amazed.

This guys just were pioneers of sound, and many other things.

  • long comments...ill make mine short jim morrison was a an acid eating freak...and thats y i love him

  • Ray and Jim, my friends!! and yeah the guy was a genious, I mean for his age?, like 20 when he started, singing that is, cuz he was writting since he was like 6. the guy was giffted. he'll live forever!!!!!mrmojorisn

  • Whatever other talents Jim Morrison had he had probably the best voice in all of rock & roll - wether Jim had previous vocal training is an unknown. Ray Manzarek spoke of meeting Jim on the beach in Santa Monica, before the Doors ever existed and of Jim singing his composition Moonlight Drive to Ray and of that moment being the real genesis of the Doors!!!

  • He still had to rely even more on the others to make music that the contrary. He still needed that talent, that kind of chemistry and musicality and not from anyone else. There are tons of talented musicians out there but making them work well with everyone is another story.

  • He was still limited by the fact that by himself he couldn't write music, he couldn't pick a guitar and compose a chord sequence and make a song. Maybe as a poet he proves his greatness alone.

  • Theotis, thank you for agreeing...You seem very knowledgeable about The Doors. Are you a recent convert or did you live through their fame?

  • well he was great for sure but as a musician myself i'm still convinced that jim wouldn't be as well known and praised without such inspirated guys as manzarek, etc...The instrumental talent is there and in such an instrumental band as The Doors how can all the people ditch those guys so much saying Jim was God and the rest just average...I still think they all needed each other. He wouldn't achieve the same chemistry with any musician out there. The same for the others.

  • Thmscr, very true about chemistry - just like a good marriage, but I think there may have been other musicians who could have accompanied Jim Morrison, perhaps with the same effectiveness (except maybe for Ray). Most know they weren't average though - they were way above average. But, they had practiced their craft while Jim was just plain gifted. There was only one Morrison - definitely not imaginably replaceable in my book.

  • I'll still reply to you, to me they were all gifted.

Jim still only had success with those and not others. That's what we know. Maybe he could have been successful with other musicians but I doubt he could have done it with the same vibe and artistic aesthetics as a whole as he did with those guys. It would be a different thing, not The Doors.

  • Absolutely true! The Doors as they are is "what we know' as you say. May have been completely different with other musicians, but Jim Morrison was destined for success no matter who he played with =) !

  • Yes, they were each unique and talented, but I think they knew that without Jim they would never have been famous. Jim Morrison was the heart, soul and voice of The Doors - there is no denying that!

  • classic love jim and the doors GREATEST BAND STILL TILL THIS DAY...............

  • Defenitly Theotis...I'm sick to see how the others are always underrated. I'm guitarist myself and i can listen here a great keyboardist, great basslines, great guitarplayer etc...Not just Jim.

  • I think Jim knew that very well and appreciated it.

    But the millions don't.

Guess you gotta be a musician to see these things.

They're all great, and "The Doors" are more than the sum of their parts.

    They're great. :)

And this song is just... beautiful.

  • 1:43-2:00 is my favourite part... so strange and beautiful

  • Poetry in tones...

    Beautiful.

  • yes, I'm lost

  • nunca habia escuchado esta rolita la verdad k es un joya grasias por subirlo.

  • This and "Love Street". Beautiful.

  • jim is alife..!!!!

  • I have read that John didnt/doesnt play with the Doors now because he wont play without Jim. I know that he said once that he would only play with Eddie Vedder who has sung with them because he is the only one who could get close to Jims style and voice. I also read Jim hung out alot with his own group later on and seperated from the Doors. I guess because he wanted to get away from the rock star life.

  • the little girls knwo what the hell to do, but they stall

  • I believe he did not like JIm because of what Jim did to himself, the group and the fans

  • Why does John Densmore seem so out of place in the pictures hes in with the doors? I have heard it was because Jim never liked him. Anyone know why?

  • i love the guitar intro

  • @xSublimEstyLeE yo tambien lo amo

  • Great chorus so relaxing

  • solo :)

  • Morrison Hotel,masterpiece-lyrics,musics,themes,Morrison sound like a wild bluesman,LA Woman the vocals are severed, tired but there's always energy, yeah ok but for me vocals on The Strange Days-Jim is at his best, peace!

  • vocals like crystal, the best vocals of Jim Morriosn are on The Strange Days, the 1lp-he sounds wild,Waiting for the sun-well it's the syndrom of the third album(Not to touch the Earth Five to one-génial),then we have The Soft Parade,ok but comparing to first two albums-it's another level

  • ok. this is another level.

  • such a good track from the best band ever

  • This song reminds me these days of Magibon.

  • your lost

    (y)

  • :) sure you know what to do

  • Its been ages

This great tune brings long lost memories back(good n nightmare)

    Im hooked on it.

(and yeah we all know ray did bass w/ keyboards, and they had a bass player in studio recordings)people go easy on the guys who dont know much about the doors!they just wanna know more about the band!

  • I believe Doug Lubham played Bass on the first few Albums. Doug was a studio player

w/'Electra' he also played Bass with a group 'Clear Light'

  • story of my life

  • only 64 comments??? wtf is wrong with people?? why they prefer to comment in fucking harry potter videos?

  • dude,ur the only one over at harry pothead's section.

    doors kick ass!

  • What I was trying to say is that this video does not reserve 68 comments in one year,is sucks that many people prefer to watch and comment fucking harry poter videos instead of cooll videos like this one

  • yeah, pisses me off sometimes as well.

go look at how many views freebird has.

and i think that song is overrated and everyone came after me,and i think the person who posted the video deleted my comments, thats just to show that they dont allow someone from a diff' point of view to say anything!

doors are way fucking better than "lynyrd skynyrd"

  • freebird is a great song, but is maybe the only good song of lynyrd skynyrd

  • youve got to be kidding, there music will and always rocks, maybe your just not into it,they influenced my drum playing greatly, chris from the psychedelic mooj

  • Another underrated masterpiece. Great job, gentlemen.

  • oh fuck! i havent heard this song in ages

  • jim is god

  • gooooooooddd JIM morrison the best..

  • fuck nature we ain`t natural

  • THE BEST,THE DOORS THE BEST.

  • I've always wondered how The Doors could have played live if they only had 1 guitar player since there has to be a bass and lead in the songs. Did they have a 5th member when they toured?

  • no Ray Manzarek sometimes played a bass line on his keyboard. Also Robby Krieger would sometimes use a octave box to lower the note on his guitar

  • Four men in 1960, they live in future and thats why their music is so GOOD

  • Strange Days is a fantastic album!!

    Long live The Doors !!!

  • It is really good!!

I just saw "moonlight drive" (their tribute band) a couple days ago at shwagstock!! they where amazing!!

  • Actually 40 years but will still have its impact 40 years from now. That's what classic rock is all about!

  • it's 41 becurds this was made 67

  • I'm in love with the effect Krieger used on his solo. Whatever it was... I'm going to hunt him down and ask until I figure it out...

And I'm going to have to find out where I can find anyone with Jim's voice!

    Oh yeah... I forgot.

There is nobody with the immortal voice of Morrison.

And that is how it should be.

  • oh wot a fuckin song it really is a natural high that I THINK THAT YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO Etc heavenly GOOD OLD JIMBO;>
