-This cult are the Templars. This secret to eternal life that tthey knew about is true but should not be taken literarily. Thanks! Yeah, it's a very special place like no other church I've been to. Really interesting stories about it, some which may or may not be true but it just adds to the appeal!

I live near this chapel. It is very small, and still clad in scaffolding (they had to cover the whole building to allow it to dry out - the weather is extremely brutal in Scotland). It is stunning inside, with beautiful walks in the wooded valley nearby. It's an expensive entry fee - almost the same as Westminster Abbey. Forget the innacurate Da Vinci Code, just enjoy the symbolism and architecture.

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it! Rosslyn Chapel is now a VERY special place for me because that visit was the very last I had with my grandmother. After she died (in May this year) I went back again because I now feel a connection to the place, and I felt her presence there. Shortly after my first visit they stopped aloowing cameras and camcorders so I'm very lucky to have got this when I did. It's very special to me and my granny is in a few shots too.

Hmm...interesting. I can't say I saw that but then again i wouldn't know what i was looking for. I don't doubt it though. There are a lot of carvings there that are simply mysterious so it might be.

I have too heard what SidneyXda asks about the hollow eart symbol/carving. I don't remember who said it, but remember that it should be right above the altar (in the center of the chapel).

I too know about the water problem and the reason for the aluminium roof but there is a bit of humour in fredwhitworth's posting concerning tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nuts who believe every mad story made up about the chapel.

I went to see it round may? I guess? not sure, and I stay on a Hostel far away from the center area called Globe trotters? The best Hostel, TV romm-bar, cheap beer and 4 girls roomates from the States. I walk like 2 miles with my back pack from the busstop to the Chapel, I worth it. Thanks God..
