I really like this interview. Tegan rocks. and I totally agree that 'why women have to be a role mode and men could be a rockstar' - and yes, it's sexist.
i am a big fan of three days grace i really like rock bands,and i like tegan and sara music too.and thats what Tegan says its so true there are rock but in their own style.i think both bands are very good,but their rock in different style,and thats the boint!!i mean whats the boint!if all rock bands have the same sound...it will be boring!!and i really think sisters kissing its disgusting!!
My sister was talking about two twins making out and saying it was so hot and I was like no its so disturbing. She said no, and I was like imagine kissing me and she heaved. I was like yeah. It's gross! That is her sister.
@NJS06 i think it's that people need to label things when they first are introduced to them. like the hipster pitchfork magazine reviewers that can't write an objective review for their life, calling their old stuff "tampon rock" and being incredibly mean-spirited and cynical with sexist undertones.
and the incest thing is just absurd. it's like, if a brother and a sister made a band, would you ask them if they're romantically involved? of course not. but when they're gay? of course they are.
re: what tegan said about people's views on sisters. you have bands like the veronicas and cocorosie all over each other in pictures and videos; not that i agree with it but i can see why some people may become ignorant and assume all band of sisters are like that. this is why i like tegan and sara as well as kim and kelley deal, they are not disgustingly incestuous with each other. there's always the "damned if you do" argument but you can still love each other without acting like a couple.
