  • 3:12 shakira and beyonce Lol : )

  • who was the man with MARILYN towards the end , look like she was fixing his tie

  • Remember Honey, after your married it's ok to say yes.

  • @HJMC3345 I LOVE Jane Russell's lines in this movie. I don't think she got the comedic credit she deserved.

  • Nice upload!... I always sensed that, when watching GPB, and looking at some of these stills, too, that Russell always liked Monroe. That's a real tribute to a woman's character, I think, when one would anticipate that jealousy might take over. Apparently Jane was above and beyond that.

  • Great South Pacific orchestration. Love the basses at the beginning.

  • thank you for this video!

  • hi great

  • nice using south pacific score

  • Now there are a couple of outfits I would wear in a heartbeat... =]

  • @PattyPetite666 ~ I love the outfit @1:12 the top 3rd is green, matches necklace & earrings, middle sash is purple & pants r black. It just strikes me as comfy yet dressy....I love it.Ooh yes the black outfit with the leopard wrap & muff...sighs. When Jane & Marilyn are in that Paris Cafe @2:51 their suits are navy, fitted with pink blouses (at least Janes is) so perfect. Just noticed the scene @ 4:47 is not in the movie must have been edited out. Either way, their clothes are to die for! SQ1

  • nice one -another rare archive--these have never been seen by most-thanks for posting--

  • I really wish some of those clothes were on the sales rack nowadays but noooo all we have is hookery trash in our lifetime!!!! I want the CLASSY stuff too!

  • I love this movie! And this is really well put together. What's the music?

  • Nice collection of photos!

    thankz for the download!

  • Beautiful Pictures - both women were gorgeous and so curvey! Models today are way to skinny!

  • @TheMarilyn1969monroe thanks so much for telling us whose orchestra & conductor produced the particular recording used behind your wonderful video. bravo!

i loved montenegro's conducting talent & i particularly loved what you did here. i have this movie & watch it often.

to clarify, the music's indeed from rodgers & hammerstein's "South Pacific". just a thought, orchestral music from "gentlemen prefer blonds" might have been appropriate if locatable ;-)

keep up the great work. peace!

  • it's always been amazing to me that critics never considered miss monroe a good actress. i have seen many of her films, and can't tell you one in which she did a bad job.

each of them was brilliantly acted, and the character totally believable. it's too bad her absolute beauty got in the way of her stellar acting talent.

  • What is the lovely music please?

  • @MikeHudson65 the music is from Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1949 broadway musical production of "South Pacific". however i don't know who's specific recording of the music this is.

  • Those dresses... *.*

  • love you ...

  • Sigh... i'm born 1984 but I love Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.. I think these 2 women are so wonderful and beautiful in every way.. sigh.. wanna be like them. wish I met them.. Rest in Peace..

  • Wonderful pics and music!

  • I wish they had kept where they wear the top hats in the movie, or that they saved the footage. They both look incredibly sexy in those outfits.

  • Thank you so much for making this available! I´ve always wondered if Jane and Marilyn got along well during the shootings of "Gentleman...". I guess this and the other videos gave me the answer. Thanks again!

  • wonderful hommage

  • Very good pictures. Many of which I had never seen before. A nice tribute to a wonderful lady. Thanks Marilyn1969.

  • i love the pics and the music, thanks for sharing

  • PRECIOUS. WE LOST A GEM.

  • i GUESS the man with the sketch book at 6: 12 must be Paul Zatusvaitch (spelling alert ) ! he desighned the costumes including the Diamond dress that was replaced as it was too revealing. he also did LOST IN SPACE for tv. Jane is loking as though she were shocked.. the first takes were done with a dress that looked a lot like beyonce's cape on one of her album covers. Also the dutch gilr dances seem to have been lost or misplaced.

  • @etrax2000 Surely it was William Travilla that designed all these costumes, as well as for other MM films before and after this one?

  • @etrax2000 Fox's Costume Designer for this and most of MM's films was Wm Travilla, he gave us the stunning scarlet, sequined, plunge of a neckline,(though some was an almost flesh color panel) costumes w/ the slit & train in opening#,plus all other costumes in film. This sequence begins w/ Gwen Vervon on set w/ Marilyn & Jane walking them through Jack Cole's choreography.Seems as tho MM KNEW this was that 1 BIG break, notice that everything is SO well rehearsed, she never looks down at steps or feet

  • MAGNIFICENT, THIS IS WHAT i LOVE ABOUT YOUTUBE. I ALSO SAW SOME COLOR HOME FOOTAGE OF THE LASIES APPLYING THERIOWN MAKEUP PLEASAE MORE FOOTAGE.

  • hello mikehudson65 the music is from, south pacific by rogers and hammerstein

  • This is my favorite film of that era...Thank you so much for sharing!

  • This is lovely music, what is it please?

  • so sad that some of the movie was cut ..... MM did the famous Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend dance routine in one take, and for her that was a rare because she was so afraid of the camera and thats why she fluffed her lines a lot..... Nerves and the fear of not being good enough.....

  • Where did you get the wonderful shots of Gwen Verdon coaching MM and Jane? are there more shots from the session? rbrtptrck at AOL.

  • Where in the world did you find the pictures of Gwen Verdon coaching Marilyn and Jane? Are there more? Can I get them?

  • Thanx so much for this great video.

    Wonderful images and music.

    I enjoyed watching very much.

  • thanks so much for this - GPB is in my top 5 favourite films - i think i know it by heart! RIP Jane, say hello to Marilyn from all of us xxx

  • I knew Gwen Verdon worked with Jack Cole, but I didn't realize she worked on this movie, given that her own career was about to take off. Love those pics of her on the set with Marilyn and Jane! Thanks! Also love seeing the costumes, hair and numbers that never made it into the final film.)

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THE MUSIC! I LOVE THIS JAZZ-ORCHESTRA PIECE? WHAT IS IT!?

  • ozoooo great love it

  • This is just beautiful. My mother died in 2004 but this was her absolue favorite of all time.

  • Sometimes in Marilyn photos she looks fake. Too gorgeous to be real.

  • Love the pics from the cut musical number

  • Thanks. I personally preffer Jane in this movie. She's perfect as well. :)

  • LOVE IT,,,,,THANK YOU

  • OH WOW ! HOW WONDERFUL TO SEE THESE PIX. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE !!! THANK YOU !!!!

Does anyone know if there was a musical number with Jane and Marilyn wearing the "pirate " costumes (seen at 4:30 ) ? I have always wondered if there was a number filmed and then cut from the original print. If so , does anyone know if it is available to be seen anywhere ?

  • @miltsar i read someplace that the darryl zanuck thought the movie ran too long and had it cut. it was thrown out and can only be seen in bits in coming attraction reel .

  • I love behind the scenes. I wish they would have added these as a bonus dvd in her collection of films. This is priceless. You have some of the best archive of her. Love them all. Thanks

  • ...great images and great soundtrack, thank you for sharing...perfect.

  • she was extraordinary in every sense of the word and it's a shame, all the attacks towards her from the media and even from herself. she was a normal person, just trying to fulfill her dreams and aspirations, and was taken from all who loved her much too soon.

  • Gorgeous...as always

  • Wow! +Nice music choice.

I hadn't seen most of those photos.

    2:32: What an amazing shape!

    NormaJeane

  • Beyonce and Marilyn Monroe must share the same genes at some point.

  • @poufkimashoula Beyonce??????? PuLeeease!

  • Thank you so much whoever put this up.I have never seen many of these. What a treat. Thank you.

  • I never seen these images before, thank you so much :)

  • HER SUPER-BEST MOVIE.....I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! MARILYN COME BACK!!!!!

  • Standing beside Jane Russell I find MM ordinary, short, painted and, well, you get the picture.

  • YES ! Amazing.I loved her look during this period. The golden blonde hair the clothes she wore, perfect !

  • Outstanding!

  • Its so interesting to see how a star from the sky above lives just as ordinary as we do))) She plays cards, does dance repetitions....Laughs, reads....Very cute & touching....
