  • I cant stand this guy, he's too far up his own ass. First he says he's been working on the idea for pulp fiction for years. Didnt Roger Avary do most of the plotidea for pulp fiction, Ive never heard quentin give him credit for anything.

And then when he's like "I dont like this scene because it sounds more like someone trying to write like me than.....(smells his own fart)......me"

Ok get off your high horse already quentin, youre just a fanfiction writer, you douche.

  • @manwithouthat44 He does sit on a high horse and says some bullshit sometime, but he's a creepy guy and you have to like him for his work, not him. You can't not like Michelangelo because he was a dick. This scene, in my opinion, actually doesn't seem like work of Quentin's or somebody trying to write like him. (I'd imagine somebody trying to write like him would probably get it right, or close) It seems more, like Quentin said, cliched, and looks like a SHiTy paranormal activity opening.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 I hate the word creepy. >_> The most judgmental and skittish word in the English language. And I don't see what is so "creepy" about him.

  • @LicoriceLain his strangeness. aka what would make being in a broken down elevator with him awkward.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 I guess we are at opposite ends of the spectrum, then. XD I would be thoroughly uncomfortable being stuck in an elevator with a very ordinary person. Especially if they were resistant to probing/questioning. I like knowing things. :P I sense that trait in Tarantino (even though he is a tad judgmental about some things) which would him kind of a nice claustro-buddy.

  • @LicoriceLain maybe talk about films and where someone can find a good Dead Nigger Storage place around town for a reasonable price. lol I just think he seems WAAAYYY too cocky at the beginning of this video. There is a lot of respect for those that are humble about themselves.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 I wouldn't call him humble, for sure, but he isn't really a show off either.Again, I think passion can be easily mistaken for arrogance as they are very similar states.

  • @LicoriceLain C'mon man! ugghhh.....he said that it sounded like someone trying to write like him. Like no one else could write well in the world but him. Writing like him would entail a certain style, not just crap. He's a bit too proud; I find that, if someone was good at writing and could follow the finesse found in his stories, that they could. But, he puts people down for no reason. Like I said earlier, this deleted scene doesn't seem like QT work at all, more like paranormal activity SHiT.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 Don't call me man. I think you misinterpreted what he said. He meant that it sounded like somebody else trying to do what he does. Not that he is some great progeny, but that he does what he does because he is good at it. Other artists do what they do because they are good at it. There is not such thing as an objective great artist. We all can only hope to be the best us we can be.

  • @LicoriceLain no, I didn't misinterpret what he said, but by what you just told me now, I can tell that you did. Saying "It sounded more like someone trying to write like me, instead of....me", meaning:

    a)He's talking about another writer

b)his writing is better(considering this is a bad scene he does not like)

c)that someone trying to write like him, couldn't; and they would make a scene like this.

and d)basically saying "I'm better than you"

wherever you got: artists do etc, is beyond me.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 If you are going to insist on interpreting what he says negatively, then whatevs. It is still is just your opinion, but you are entitled to it.

  • @LicoriceLain It's not an opinion if he just said it! Oh my God... what should be said in our conversation is this. You were close to saying it, but alas, I must be the one to write it.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO STUBBORN ON INTERPRETING SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN WHAT HE JUST SAID, THAN YOU ARE A DUMBASS WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN OPINION IS NOR WHEN QUENTIN IS INSULTING OTHER WRITERS FOLLOWING IN HIS FOOTSTEPS. BUT, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO IT, BECAUSE YOU LIKE GETTING SPIT IN THE FACE AND DEFENDING IT

  • @SHiTJuFro743 Sorry, but I don't buy the whole "if he says that it sounds like someone trying his type of thing and failing then is insulting other writers". And, no I haven't been spit in the face. And, as for the "following in his footsteps" thing, why? Why would someone intentionally follow in someone's footsteps? O_o Do your own things, as I said earlier. Write your own kind of work and don't be offended by certain things being out of your reach.

  • @LicoriceLain OK......... You're an idiot. Following in another's footsteps is a great way of learning. AKA mentorship. And just to fucking prove it to a moron suffering from ignoranus like you, Quentin said he "never went to film school, he went to film." Meaning he wanted to make movies of his own like the ones he had seen. AKA DipSHiT, following in another's footsteps. But whatever, talking to idiots on the internet never goes anywhere.

Stop watching QT's movies too, you're way too stupid.

  • @SHiTJuFro743 Yes, you know everything.

  • @LicoriceLain thank you. :)

  • .....Suzanne Vega's the folk singer's ur cousin?! lol. that part always makes me laugh for some reason!

  • i felt this sort of..dark (literally and emotionally) sense being presented thru mia's camera because of the lighting on travoltas face..as soon as he sat down and the darkness retreated.. and then it felt like seeing the same old vincent vega you know throughout the rest of the movie. but for the that short amount of time it was interesting to view travolta in that different a way even if it was just physically.

  • I don't get why they would have cut this out but left "the Gimp" in. The Gimp was an over-the-top distraction from the story. Pulp Fiction does have a likable, down-scale quality to it, where the action occurs within the mental and experiential confines of a down-scale novelist's head.

  • @matt605 the gimp is necessary because it represents visually how fucked up some people are

  • @sebasmartenable I disagree. While the whole Zed scene definetely needed to be left in, the Gimp was unnecessary. He really didn't add much to the story. I kinda have mixed feelings about this scene here. It makes Mia seem too weird, and Vincent too high.

  • I recognize this as part of the print I saw in the theater that was later edited out for television to make room for commercials.

  • Mia: What's your favorite way to say thanks in a foreign language?

    Me: Fuck you.

  • I took this theory of Mia's and applied it to MY generation (the so-called "Generation X"), in that in OUR demographics, there are two types of people: "Forrest Gump" people and "Pulp Fiction" people. Same rule applies: "Gump" people can like "Fiction" and "Fiction" people can like "Gump," but no one--and I mean NO ONE--likes both of those movies equally. Somewhere down that line, you WILL make a choice between to two.

  • @MiketheCabbie 1. Those are movies. Not artists as in Tarantino's theory, but creations with no souls. 2. Those are two completely different genres of movies with no relation between the formulas. 3. Your argument is clumsy and to be expected from your trashy generation, so I forgive you.

  • @T3RryOrw3LL Ah, yes, they are movies, yet they can just as easily be considered the products of two different artists: the filmmakers themselves--Zemeckis and Tarantino. The reason I made the argument is primarily because these two wildly different films came out at just about the same time and had divided the critical and awards communities as to which was the better film. Personally, I prefer Pulp Fiction to Forrest Gump. I like Gump, but not as much as I liked Fiction.

  • @MiketheCabbie Implying that Elvis and the Beatles are wildly diffferent. As for Hollywood divided, who cares whether the Jews think apples or oranges are better?

  • Love those questions!!!! They do actually tell you something about a person! I would have thought Vincent would have said Veronica instead of Betty but he surprised me! I would fuck Veronica first most definitely.

  • travolta in that light looks like the boogie man! )

  • This scene has a great reference to Saturday Night Fever and when UMA/Mia says... Can you dig it? (You see John smile cause he knows where this is going and was most likely improvised ont he spot) JOHN/Vincent says: I Can Dig it... MIA... I knew that you could

Nice reference to the Bridge scene with Annette in SNF. SHould have left it in QT.

  • merci beaucoup

  • I can see why he cut it out of the film as it would have broken its pace, but it actually works as a fun piece of film on its own.

  • rocky or rambo ?¿ lol

  • wait I saw this movie on TV and this scene was in the movie.

  • elvis man...oh yeh :)

  • "Susanne Vega's my cousin, if she's become a folk singer, I sure as hell don't know nothing about it."

    Loved that line!

  • is it just me, or is quentin tarantino always on coke?

  • what's the song in the background when tarantino is talking?

  • @Noege girl, you'll be a woman soon - urge overkill

  • Comment removed

  • i can't understand what she says about elvis people ....

can anyone write that part here please?

  • Mia seems like one hell of a philosopher.

  • Aw they really cut this out of the movie? I've only ever seen the television version so I wouldn't know but idk I really like this scene...

  • @bottledmagic same

  • They keep this scene in when PF is shown on TV. Not sure why.

I wish it was kept in the real movie though. I always thought it was kinda jarring how Mia just comes down and BAM they're at the restaraunt.

  • should have been in the film, maybe at the time it was cliche but nowadays we dont even compare it to the film made it the same year and itsa great scene

  • Brilliant. One of the greatest films ever made.

  • Absolutley!

  • I'd have a fling with Veronica first and try to settle down with Betty after

I listen...you learn more that way

    Nick Nolte

    Partrich Family

    gracias

    and i can dig it

  • what's the name of the song in the scene when vince comes into mias house?

  • @Kapplaa

Son Of A Preacher Man, performed by Dusty Springfield.

Cypress Hill also incorporated the intro tune into one of their big rap-hits, Hits From The Bong to be precise. ;)

  • i wish he would have not cut this i love this scene

  • There, you found it.;-)

  • Seems like this "let's keep the film focused" process didn't happen on Inglorious Basterds - it's a shame, QT got so big nobody could tell him "no" and now the film is too dialog-heavy. It's still a valid film, it's just not got the same snap as Pulp...

  • Tarantino's acting in this mia wallace and vincent vega scene is brillant, i luv how he gets the side effect of shooting herion; u feel deeply relaxed, physically and mentally!!

  • fucking awesome.

  • This is a very interesting scene.

  • Gotta fucking love QT.

  • "I have to admit I wait to talk, but I'm trying harder to listen"

"I am the tyranny of evil men, but I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd."

    nice connection.

  • in conversation, do you listen or wait to talk?

fucking good question, and the answer is the same that i would give i think ; )

  • The three of you below me need to suck dicks for better eyesight. And the one who posted this vid needs to have a bukkake facial or a facila bukkake.Isn't that lovely. ;D

  • god, u need to fuck off man and get a fuckin life

  • This reminds me of a scientology personality test.

  • I'd fuck Veronica first.

  • "someone trying to write like me than... me" what. okay quentin, keep riding that high horse of yours.

  • his screenplays are epic, movie history since "rd". many tried to copy his style, but didn´t succeed. quentin knows that. proud of.. why not? he is blessed.

  • lol,

    well haha,

I think he's kinda earned that high horse.

I mean he IS one of the best writers of our time and pretty much one of the best directors, so yeah I think that's a pretty accurate statement.

    heh.

  • i loved reading this bit i the paperback script

  • uma says fuck sexy

  • I think it's just her role. she's all weird and a playful thing. a bit spoiled by her rich boss at that. no worries in the world.

  • Which look? Travolta´s or Thurman´s?

  • I ONCE CARRIED THAT LOOK

  • john is the best actor!!

  • Are you kidding? The dialogue in Pulp Fiction is magnificient and kept me deeply engrossed even though there wasn't much action.

  • there wasnt much action...........ARE YOU DEAD??

  • No there wasn't. The most memorable parts of the film is the OD scene and the dialogue. Compared to Tarantino's other films (except Jackie Brown) there wasn't as much action. However, Pulp Fiction was still better than them.

  • so i guess the idea of making the choice ties back to the conversation that vincent and jules have in the diner, where jules says that it doesnt matter if something is a miracle or not, what matters is how you accept it.

  • yeah

  • vega is cooler than winnfield

  • tough call

  • I guess I'm beatles man

  • thank fuck they cut this scene

  • They air this on TV and it's on the DVD

  • i first saw the uncut version of this movie so i was wondering where it was when i saw the original.this was one of my favorite scenes.sad they took it out :(

  • i love his hyperism

  • you mean cocain :o

  • kikikikikikikiki yeah.

  • Yeah.. dusted.

  • Betty.

  • This was on TV the other day and they put this scene in the movie...

    Anybody else see it?

  • I Did too!!! That's what I was wondering!!!

Why was it a deleted scene when the scene IS IN THE Movie! I guess its only the TV version!!!

  • they remove a lot of violent scene so to do it longer they added those non violent ones

  • This is the one out of the five that should have been in the film.

  • when was this made?

  • the film in 93/94

  • ive read the script and this was in it to begin with, it was cool.

  • I liked the scene and Quentin is brilliant. I could listen to him all day, he is hilarious and doesn't put himself above other people.

  • I agree. Down to earth.

  • Quentin, you're mostly telling me stuff that I figured out myself...

  • everyone always complains that Quintin keeps talking, but im glad he does because he sometimes tell s me stuff i dont take into account and mmakes the scene better for me.

  • I agree with ReservoirPunk. Quentin is on another level.

  • glad he took that out

  • I never managed to wait to the moment Tarantino stops talking!!!

  • "am i the only one who thinks that vincent is looking like an asshole in this scene? the way he talks is so unforceful and liverish"

He's been on smac all night shit for brains.

  • ''Can you dig it? I knew that you could.'' is from Saturday Night Fever with Travolta.

  • Give it a rest Quentin...

  • thank god he took it out

  • Vincent is very cool gangster and if you have another opinion watch other clips !

  • well, remember, in the movie, he just shot up some heroin, so I would imagine in the movie he would look a little out of it.

  • i remember this scene too, but it wasn't in the dvd screener

  • Once Tarantino starts talking there's no shutting him up!

    LOL

  • In the previous scene, when Vincent is buying his heroin, his favourite way to say thanks in a foreign language is "muchas gracias".

  • I was wonder what was up with all of the Elvis references inside Slims. Either should have kept or killed both. Still one of the greatest (if not the) movies of all time. All the deletes were the right call.

  • QT is like a cross between Conan O'Brien and Adam Sessler from Xplay.

  • The coldest "compliment" ever.....

  • this scene wasn't deleted ????I remember this scene

  • It was deleted, you may have seen it on a special edition dvd.

  • so dus ur mum mate ;)

  • youre just mad you cant afford her

  • Cute winking reference to Travolta's most famous line from...shit, was it Grease or Welcome Back Kotter? "Can you dig it? I knew that you could."

  • Uma Thurman is HOT!

  • even more with dark hair :p

  • Actually, I really love it when he cameos in his own movies or in other people's movies. Seriously, he's just fun to watch!

  • genius; if only he weren't so obnoxious and didn't insert his horrible "acting" into his films. but yeah, PF is fantastic.

  • I thought he played Jimmy pretty well...

"Did you see the sign that says dead nigger storage?"

Lol when he says that line it cracks me up

  • I would throw myself in front of a car for Uma Thurman or Quentin Tarrantino, or both.

  • Well then you wouldn't be able to watch anymore movies by Quentin or movie starring Uma ^^ i would throw someone else.

  • Quentin Tarrantino is a genious! No doubt :)

  • i agree he is the best film maker ever i love pulp fiction and kill bill and he was involved in the making of the movie hostel thats why its so good!! without his help that movie would have only been average lol

  • Amazing.
