shadowoble101: If you want to play roms, make a new folder in your sansa call it whatever you want(Iboy or something) then put the roms in it you want to play, then go to the FILES then find your new folder you made. The rom you put in it should be there click on it and the game will work. I have a sanza fuze and it worked for me so hopefully that works.
@shadowoble101 just create a folder in your sansa, name it "roms" or whatever you want, put ONLY gameboy (.gb) or gameboy color (.gbc) roms in it (it won't work with .gba). After safely ejecting your sansa, turn it off and turn it on again. Go to "files" then open the "rom" folder and select the rom you want to play. (don't rename your roms with the sansa or it won't work. You don't need nothing, because the rockbox already has an emulator for the roms, so just drag your roms and have fun.
@shadowoble101 just go to the rockbox webpage, then to the left hand column you'll see it says "releases", click that. then click the yellow button that says "download installer" after you download it, make sure your sansa is connected. run what you just downloaded and select your sansa, and then go to extras and under it, you'll see it says "doom" click it and it'll install it
@shadowoble101 doom runs using way less resources, your better putting linux on it (yes linux, rockbox uses a linux platform, but rockbox doesnt run iBoy as well as the mobile linux does)
I have not long installed the latest version on my i river h340 it adds so much more to it including playing games like doom not that its easy to play. best thing is it will dual boot on my iriver i can either use rocbox or iriver firmware .
the problem 2 me is that rockbox makes the sansa screen look wack. i mean cuz i like my screen setting on sanza fuze, but rockbox looks dark and stuff with no design
Is it worth what? Did you even do minimal research on the matter before posting? I see no complications with installing Rockbox, considering it's free, effective, and even has an auto-installer so morons can't fuck up their sansa. :/
ok so i have a problem mine hase some sample songs that suck and i want to know how do i get them off i dont want them! is anyone knows how to remove them i would like it if you would reply me how to do it thanks.
I have a sansa e200 with rockbox. do you know how i can play gba games? can somebody show me or give me a link of a page showing how to do it? i havent found any page yet to explain me.
@eldom20 You cannot play gba games (they say it in their FAQ). Only Gameboy color and Gameboy. Just go to coolrom[dot]com, romnation[dot]net or romhustler[dot]net. Download a rom to your player to whatever folder you want and open it via the file browser ("Files" in main menu").
@Fl0Vid yeah, i already knew it. but thanks, though. i posted that comment like a year ago, when i didn't know how to do it, but i already know is just .gb or .gbc roms
@ItsNidal If you have rockboxed your MP3 player you can download until your hard disk is full, gameboy and gameboy color roms can be found on coolrom[dot]com, romnation[dot]net, romhustler[dot]net
sadly no... or should i say not yet! the people at Rockbox are working hard (i think) to make a new version compatible with the Fuze. baste on the facts that i know we should be playing Mario on or Fuze's in a couple of months. (hopefully)
and their all volunteers working on the project no one is paying them...(unless you donate.) so there probably not working night and day. that's why it is going to take a while.
The lifetime of the battery is like 20 hours for MP3, I used mine all day pretty much (got my e260 yesterday as a gift) and the battery hardly went down much. At that you could at least expect 2-4 hours of games, at least (Because of backlight and everything).
It is just pure awesome, there's so many features it's hard to explain in 1 or even several YouTube comments. You have to try it for yourself. Doom works pretty good, Doom II does anyways (I put the full game WAD in the add on folder and just used that and it worked perfectly). It's a little hard to play with those controls though.
@vermonk Well, there's a very simple GTA version for the gameboy. Don't expect it to be like the 3D GTA for playstation :) You can download it here tinyurl[dot]com/27gsken
i did this yesterday,,,,its so awsome,,it has a cool windows xp background and loads of games, fonts, themes, and it even comes with a voice thingy mabob that says what songs your playing
@videoshare123 Yes, you need rockbox. Rockbox.org. You can still listen to music and video's when you've Rockbox on your MP3 player. If you don't like it you can delete it and go back to the old system. If you want a stable build, go to "releases". If you want a newer, but buggier build than the stable one, go to "current build".
Too many people who have horrible grammar have asked this question, so im confused about the answer. I'm about to buy a refurbished e250, attaching a 2gig microSD to it. If i rockbox it will i also be able to listen to music and watch videos? Or does it completely change the os?
late I know, but yes, of course you are able to play music, it's 1000 times better that the original firmware. you can even browse your files and open jpg mp3 txt some movie files etc etc
For example: you can use the up button for "up", down button for "down", etc. Scroll left for "A", scroll right for "B", middle button for "select", home for "start" and power on/off for menu. The power on/off button will not turn your Sansa off during gameboy mode.
@ninten321 You can still listen to music and video's when you've Rockbox on your MP3 player. If you don't like it you can delete it and go back to your older firmware.
