@jmgcg, oh my God I know. I was praying for him to be killed in this new versio. Other than that, I enjoyed the Pod Race and the Space Battle Scenes in 3-D. Also, the personal moments between Young Anaking & his mother were very movingt too. The only saving grace of the first 3 films are the characters development and the origins of the Chancellor's rise to power.

Why are people always hating on this movie? There is nothing wrong with the prequels. All those fanboys that are hating, stop living in the past. Who are you to have a say in what Luca's vision is? If you were true Star Wars lovers you would accept these with open arms, not hate them just because of one character. If anything, Star Wars has always appealed to kids in one way or another, you were most likely one when the originals came out.

But we don't hate it purely because of nostalgia, we hate them because the plot makes no sense. I grew up on the prequels and saw the original trilogy after, and I agree that the originals are superior. Even if it does "target children", it did it in a way that didn't seem insulting. The original Star Wars trilogy has always been a fantasy story. Like a modern myth. That's why we like the originals. They have a whimsical charm to it that the prequels can't match.

Even if you think it's because of nostalgia, many Star Wars fans TRIED to like the Phantom Menace when it came out. They were in denial, but eventually learned that they didn't like it, and thought it made no sense. Assuming that the fans didn't like it solely because they thought "OMG! WHYZ GEORGE LUCUZ HAV TO CHANGE THINGZ! >:(", is kinda ignorant.

To some fans, Star Wars was a big part of their lives. That's why they hate the prequels.

I say that would be a fair assessment. A possible reason why some people don't like the original trilogy and prefer the new trilogy is because Star Wars has had such a big impact on culture that the plot of the old trilogy is no longer interesting to them and they only see it's faults. I wasn't as mind blowned when I discovered that Darth Vader was Luke's father as the people who saw the movie in theaters were because it had been parodied so many times.
