Say I'm in third and I got to 2nd its like the car throws hella hard when I put it into second almost like a stall but it doesn't stall, am I shifting at to high of and rpm?? @zzzZHeartZzzz You should be letting off the gas to downshift so you can match the RPMs because you're moving to a lower gear. The car should lurch back a bit because the lower gear will cause the car to slow down on it's own. Try dropping off the gas more when downshifting.

Oops, at first, you forgot to add "...too fast" with "when I let out the clutch" (without giving any fuel). If you had let it out slowly, then you're still letting it out, but then it wouldn't jerk and stall--which of course you get to later, but you just weren't clear in the beginning. Reshoot that part.

to downshift for more power, do the same procedure, but give it some gas while rolling off the clutch.

@grandmasgoodies stopping is very easy. Just release the gas pedal, push the clutch and brake. Don't get your foot off the clutch pedal! While breaking (and therefor clutching) you can select a lower gear. When you're standing still while in gear, keep the clutch pressed in!

@carissa642 Just start learning manual, trust me, it is much harder to do it the other way. I learned on manual when I was very young, so automatic wasn't a big deal, but then I forgot all I had learned and relearned on automatic. Now I am having to relearn manual and it is so hard.

@carissa642 You don't really "learn" automatic. There is nothing really besides putting the car in drive, reverse, neutral, and so on and then just press on the gas. Manual lets you control your RPM's more and for some people adds some more fun.
