The term "robber barons" doesn't even make sense! Who are they "robbing"?? Consumers? Nope, can't be that. They made products CHEAPER and more efficient(ly).

Politicians? nope. a lot of them, as woods explained, got gov't help and handouts. They become very wealthy, so obviously the gov't got a lot of tax revenue as well.

WHO was being robbed?? The only other group I didn't mention were "the workers", but even they I think were probably better off than libs tell us.

Actually, products become cheaper over time by many factors, least of which is a financier (assuming an "open" development system). In fact, the so-called robber barons would work to make products more expensive if thy're at all concerned about and successful at making a profit.

Dominick Armentano wrote a WONDERFUL book in the 80s debunking the claim that monopolies are somehow totally natural to a free market and happen often called Antitrust and Monopoly. He also did a follow-up book called "Antitrust: The case for repeal". Wonderful. There's even a 3-part video on Youtube of him being interviewed by a libertarian as well as Ron Paul.

I recently encountered a liberal moron on a youtube video claiming that Ron Paul is "pro-monopoly". I had to correct him right away

He assumed that, just b/c paul wants to repeal antitrust laws, he's somehow "pro-monopoly." It never occurred to this Youtuber that there's more to the story of "monopolies" being penalized by gov't than meets the eye. He just assumed that whenever the Justice Dept. sues a company for "Monopoly" or a case is brought before the SCOTUS, the all-knowing gov't bureaucrats are doing good.

The Microsoft "antitrust" case was such BS. Much of it hinged on free IE in Windows. big whoop.

Carneigie defrauded his competition in 1880 by calling their product "homogenious" and writing all the railroads to frighten them. Once nobody would buy from the competition up the street, they went bankrupt and Carneigie bought it up for 1-2 cents on the dollar and called it his own.

Carneigie should have been bankrupted, and would have been had he not been able to slander/libel his competition without consequences.

Whenever Liberty Pen sends me his latest video I watch it for less than a minute and then just find an unedited version so that I can focus on the content. The content is interesting enough. You don't need to distract the viewer by inserting music or effects.

All a 'government' wants to do is run other people's lives. That means they want to *rule* others. The only way to stop people who want to rule others is by morally opposing them.

If enough people oppose criminals then there is no longer a place for them in society. You don't 'teach' criminals to behave better, instead you take resources away from them. That means stop believing in government (aggressive violence) as a solution.

Woods went to a few meetings of the League of the South, where some of the members expressed views that were a bit non-PC. Obama is up to his eyeballs in questionable associations (Reverend Wright, William Ayers, Timothy Geithner (tax cheat), Eric Holder (who was more than happy to give the NBBP a pass for intimidating voters), and ACORN.
