  • Random story. I was reading recently about an incredibly remote small island in the antarctic, which I think the French claim, but barely anyone has ever been there. Recently a science expedition went there for a bit and found very old signs of human life, including a old 19th century life-boat. Sadly it seems that somewhere in the 19th century there was wreck, there were survivors who made it to the desolate island, but perished in it's inhospitality.

  • when I saw the moment Endurance crushed my heart sank. I don't think we could ever fathom what those brave men must have felt at that very moment.

  • "The officers drew wool bags and all the fine fur bags went to the men." That my friends is good leadership.

Nothing is more demotivating than crappy officers that seek to their own well being over that of the men. And nothing is more motivating than officers that share hardships shoulder to shoulder with the men.

  • @3:05 aww

  • Epic. No explorers like this anymore.

  • i read the book so coll

  • That had to be pretty scary to watch your ship sink

  • I watched the entire documentary "The Endurance" from netflix. Frankly, it was Shakletons unwavering leadership and positive attitude that saved their lives.

  • @iamwhatithinkable - It was Tom Crean who saved the day again.....

  • is this the documentary where shackleton dances on the ice for morale?
