Not so worried about the pain, cause its expected..

is general anesthesia safe? and were you scared you wouldn't wake up?

They extracted my wisdom teeth about 2 months ago, fortunately it was my second removal. Whilst the operation itself I had to vomit, horrible.

Shit, I did'nt get any sedation for my Wisdom teeth removal...they just gave me novacaine and yanked them out! did'nt feel a thing...got up and drove myself home.

Midazolam is an amazing drug, I was sedated a week ago after a life time of fear with dentists, to think I was awake the whole time talking and consciously looking about the room I cannot remember a single thing, it so weird.

I had to get ten teeth pulled including my wisdom teeth... because you cant have baby teeth for braces! -_- it is definatly not fun!

@nhzbarbie100 Don't be too afraid. Hope that they will put an iv in so that you will be completely out for the whole process. Just make sure you take care of your wounds when you get home, i.e. don't pull on the stitches like I did haha

@Avabron12299 The surgery itself was not painful in the least bit. But of course, I was out like a light. Honestly the whole removal was the easiest part, and all four of mine were very impacted. The trouble came with the recovery. It took me a solid two weeks to recover. And it took at least another two weeks to get back to normal. All this occured in the few weeks right before I went off to college lol

When I was little, I was put out at the dentist and doctors. At the dentist, it was my 4th birthday and they asked me if I wantedto blow up balloons and I said yes because I wanted to learn how to blow up a balloon and they took me into a really white room and put me on a table and I started crying and they put a mask over my face and I tryed to rip it off then I fell asleep. At the doctors, the stuck needles into my arms and I felt something cold in my throat then I fell asleep. >:| Fuck them.

I'm due oral surgery on 3rd May. Have opted for sedation as I hate being put under general anasthetic. However, I'm beginning to feel extremely anxious about the whole thing. Anyone got any words of wisdom? I know the girl in the vid seemed well out of it, but is that really what happens? If they try to put a mask on me like they did to her on the vid I will freak, even if I am sleepy. I have this phobia about masks and stuff - anything near my face :(

@LadyMezzo you're not alone. i do not go near a doctor unless it's serious. i hardly trust dentists, and i can't stand to have my head closed in. ugh...i had to get my tonsils out and i'm traumatized for life

I remember i got sedated, all i remember is getting injected and i said to the nurse "i feel sleepy" and she said "we havnt even put the liquid in yet" and then the next minute i was waking up in another room saying "this is fucking brilliant, i want sedated again"

they should just put a mask over your nose and gave you some ether and put you under the genneral anesthia then you wouldn't have been scared you would have been assleep
