dude new motor. keep it old school, just play it like I do, get a motor STOCK can take a beating, put it about half way to that beating, nothing that it cannot handle. then just drive and enjoy.

motor blown is a motor blown, you can always do a rebuild, but there is a lot of stuff you have to replace. and when in doubt, swap it out!

The rod&piston would have to got THROUGH ALL of the cylinder head to ruin the paint... and that wuld not happen... you cant "shoot" a piston out of the bottom.... Blow the crank out the pan is very possible...

you can throw a rod and a piston clean out the side. my dad and i just restored a 454 f100 that had a gaping hole through the fender where it did such a thing. we took the blown 454 and put a punched 302 in it made for an older mustang.

i figured if it happened out the side it could happen out the bottom. learned something new.
