@ClovisandLuth Actually practically none of the Mario games used the same music other than the star medley for when you had a star. They all used new music, minus like bonus levels and stuff where they'd throw in a trippy remix for old fans. Each game has added tons to the plate and 3 and World are both widely considered better than 1. Mario 64 is also nothing like mario 1, as well as all the 3D games. Oh and Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario, and Mario and Luigi don't revolve around the princess

@ClovisandLuth Your ignorance of Mario is hilarious. Normal old Mario can uproot entire fortresses out of the ground and kick them like footballs. He can throw giants, he's defeated bowser plenty of times and Bowser can survive being thrown into the sun.  In paper mario 2, he gained a move where he can stop time. And he has the natural ability ever since Super Mario RPG to throw volleys of giant fireballs. He can jump over entire stadiums, and live through practically anything. Play Mario

The rings were to give it a more "old school" appeal and the repeated Tails summons was the only way I could hit Eggman at those kinds of speeds.
