the man who taught me everything i know about wine and was also one hell of a pothead and my boss to boot, gave me the detroit bootleg live cd...been hooked ever since. RIP mark.....
i don't know too many Morphine-fans. I also accidentally heard it. And I was amazed. The deep and painful atmosphere of this music is strongly related to my whole life. (I dunno how cuz i am just 17, but... you know...)
I'll play Morphine during poker games or just hanging out with acquaintences, and they always perk up and ask, "wow, who is this? This band rocks..." Such a phenomenal and unduplicated sound. I wish that Mark Sandman was still around, but I will cherish everything that Morphine has left behind.
THE SONG, I'm found of this band since the 1st time i heard this song (more than 10yrs ago though)... Their sound is so peculiar, an inimitable style... Miss U Mark and yr 2strings bass
When I began dating my boyfriend it became obvious rather quickly that we had very different tastes in music. This is his favorite band, and it's become mine, too. These guys were eons ahead of the game.
I only recently got turned onto Morphine and I feel like I've been deprived for years. Love the fact that you can feel the music in your chest. Such an original sound.
I've gotten two of their albums so far and am going to try like hell to get them all. Cure for Pain has been played almost constantly since I got it. Hope I don't wear it out. Too bad that there can be no more.
Who needs 3 cords, when you can do this with 2! Thanks for this post & thanks Mark, the music world misses you!

Huge "Morphine" fan since 1995. Got the album "cure for pain" on an audio tape (!?- true).
Never herd anyone play music like this, ever.
They are purely UNIQUE!
Their music lives forever.
