....I mean, at this point, they _were_ actually still trying to be serious, just as they were in the early '80's, but due to Lucas' new "power structure," creative criticisms from the cast and crew were NOT properly applied, and well...we know the clusterfuck that resulted. Consequently, Ep. I is the most like the original trilogy in style and structure and was the film w/the greatest potential.

In addition, Lucas started to get rid of those who questioned him creatively. You know...the people who actually KNEW what they were doing? Lol. You could actually already see this influence starting to manifest in Return of the Jedi....I mean, Ewoks defeating a legion of *Storm Troopers*? REALLY?? ...(who actually KNEW what they were doing), were actually able to *over-rule* him, let him know just how much of a MORON he was, and make the movie RIGHT.

This is why the Star Wars and Indy Jones series were SOOOO good back in their day, but (at least w/Star Wars), the people below him started to treat Lucas as the "Genius behind it all," tho he REALLY only provided that initial creative spark, and so, started taking his commands as completely uncritically unchallengeable.

The more I think about it the more it shows just how lazy the Legend guys where. Which is a shame, because they made some funny text adventures in the day.

But basically they just did the Utwig/Ultron thing all over again (lazy lazy lazy) then whe you fix the quest they just use it as a 'Humans are Special' trope (a sci-fi trope I DESPISE. (because it's obnoxiously arrogant to assume a human is the best possible sentient creature.)

I LOVED this game, and I still have it. One of the greatest sci-fi games and sequels ever produced, I don't care what the fans of SC2 say.

I wish they'de make an MMORPG of this universe.

Okay, I actually don't DISLIKE this voice. It's nice that they don't remain so morouse once they're out of their stupor, too. That's something Toys for Bob kind of didn't do when they made ported Star Control II to the 3DO...

Yeah, I always liked that their voice changes depending on their mood. Both the english AND Japanese voices for the Utwig in SC2 didn't do that for some reason.
