@ananddamodaran123 ...What? Dude, just pull out your copy of the record...you have one, right? I have seven. Four work. Stupid CDs and their tendency to scratch.
@kylerpoo they have and Zach de la Rocha has attended several occupies!
There comes a time when we must throw ourselves against the gears of the apparatus and make the machine stop... it must be prevented from working at all.
Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Primus, Green Day, Jane's Addiction, Foo Fighters, Bassnectar, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, Sublime, 311, White Stripes, Cake, Stone Roses, Nine Inch Nails, and not in that order. Anything I'm missing?
@CaraAsoleada As you can probably see al of these bands (maybe except for White Stripes and Bassnectar) were popular in the 90's. I'm not a big fan of SOAD and they only had one album in the 90's, which wasn't even their breakthrough album. I still consider them a great metal band though. I sure do like the Dead Kennedys, I don't know much about them though, and I would probably consider them more of an 80's band. I'm glad to see some people like good music.
I do like 90s Green Day...their stuff turned to shit by the turn of the century though...imo
yes, the Dead Kennedys are more of an 80s band.
Some other 90s bands are Sonic Youth (becoming more popular in the 90s, that is), The Breeders (their most successful album released in the 90s), Ride, and a lot of 'punk' such as Blink-182 and all that.
@CaraAsoleada I totally agree with you on 90's Green Day, it's definitely their best, even though some of their newer stuff isn't all that bad. I don't know too much about Sonic Youth or the Breeders, but I'll look into them because they are 90's bands and that is my favorite decade for music. Blink-182 is pretty good.
Listening to this in Spain, where the right majority party has just won the selections although the 15M protest movement and the people from Sol square... such a sad day for the democracy, fuck bipartidism... and Ford help us with this four years we have in front of our eyes...
English teacher: in senior year taught us about mass psychology and the education system and that we needed to be the change. The only teacher in twelve years to say something I knew all along: Don't believe/or take into context everything you here in school. Question Things. Everything...At least when dealing with teachers: TEACHERS EVEN ENCOURAGED IT. They'd be like: "What? No one has another opinion?" I feel sort of lucky cause not every school's like thatTake the power back teacherswhocare!
I don't care if you're a liberal, conservative, or a fuckin anarchist, these guys know what they are talking about. They play a song we can all sing along to. They speak a message we could all stand to listen to and think about. I love my country, the USA, but we gotta take the power back.
You need to understand that we live in an Oligarchy not a Democracy or even a representitive republic. The top 1% control 80+% of our wealth so how are we going to "consume" to keep factories running? I'm sorry but the only way to seize the power that our Constitution grants us we will need to go to extremems. "God I wish it could be peaceful but there can be no sequal." All we have to do is march on mass [10,000,000 +" ] to the Capital and see if our fellow citizen soldiers fire on un.
Saw these guys in like '96 in Boise ID. They played in an old Idaho state penetentury. Security was walking the walss like prison guards......It was EPIC!! They were so clean it was amazing. it sounded like they were playing a CD.
This is about forced ideals in the US - how the American government wants their citizens to conform to the "ideal" American dream. If you don't agree with their opinions, you could be considered a terrorist.
@TheBlackSedan Eh, false. It's more about dismantling the system of perpetual hedonism and domination by the monied class over the democratic system and substituting it with the principles the nation was once founded on- good will, brotherhood, and coming together to provide for the common welfare.
This is just the perfect soundtrack to the occupy wall street movement! I dream about Rage showing at wall street and just blow the fat middle aged violent police's minds out. It would be the most beautiful thing.
@00Viral00 comments like this make me sad. takes people decades and a global economic collapse to realize corruption has taken control, but instead of removing and preventing corrupt people, they turn on the institutions, which aren't harmful in and of themselves and are actually beneficial when used properly. institutions are nothing more than tools. if an institution is corrupt its cuz of the corrupt people controlling it. know what it is ur raging against, then we'll be able to fix some shit
@2imprz FUCK YEAHHHH!!!!!!! we just started our own occupation here in the philippines today. we're mad at congress for delaying voting for the TEN YEAR OLD reproductive health bill.

The teacher stands in front of the class, but the lesson plan he can't recall. The student's eyes don't perceive the lies bouncing off every fucking wall.
