  • The railroad bridge in Oil City is that no one seems to know its name. It appears on all the maps of the city and everyone knows it's there, but the bridge’s original name seems to have been long since forgotten. Even Norfolk & Western have forgotten this bridge. The earliest name on record is the Y-type Bridge because of its unique Y shape that allowed northbound trains to enter Oil City with the engine in front. Others called it the Wye Bridge, a mere misspelling of its original name.
