  • simple concept. :P i did the same thing a while ago depsite one world protal accidently being a few units off the ground. Got to love breaking the game with stuff like this.

  • @turk645 Just looked at your video, main difference I see is I didn't use the Think function at all for this.

  • @omnicoder Yeah, it's easily done via hammer alone. I just wanted to try it with scripting for the sake of getting used to using vscripts in general. The other script i wrote is also just as pointless and done better in hammer. I just like poking my head around scripting at times :P

  • @turk645 I tried it with Hammer alone first and didn't see a way since none of the attachment points were oriented properly. Eventually just made script functions called on portal placement.

  • @omnicoder to do it easily with hammer i just created a prop_portal and then parented a world portal to it. When you create a portal in hammer that portal ends up being used by the player. :P makes coop world portals easy. Speaking of which i had the idea of a coop map where each players ping makes one end of the world portal and they still have control of their own portals normally.

  • @turk645 Would cause more than 4 visible portals errors if player 1, player 2 and the world portals were open.

  • @omnicoder i thought 2 sets of normal portals and 1 world portal would work fine. Maybe not. It's still a fun concept to toy with though :P

  • @turk645 The limit is 2 sets of any sort of portals. (prop_portal, linked_portal_door, prop_linked_portal_door and prop_mirror all count towards the same limit.)

  • The first thing I noticed was the left hand holding the portal gun. Please tell me everything you know about that. :D
