Most of the songs from CFH were written in '88-'89. Primal concrete sledge was the last song written for Cowboys, and it shows how they're sound was heading towards the next album. But yea they definitely played these songs in 88.
Pretty sure this IS Pantera, not a cover band. I saw a lot of Pantera shows in 89-90 and they usually ended with The Sleep followed by Over and Out. I'll grant that the sound is a bit washed out and Phil sounds a lil bit different, but this sounds bona fide to me. If anyone has the album release party recording that broadcast on Z-Rock back in the day ... please post that shit!
Holy shit a mistake at the beginning, I have seen thousands of pantera live videos and this is the first time I hear God Dimebag missing a note, but who fucking cares, Best guitar player in the world by far, Miss you brother!
Because there is a song from Power Metal album and another from CFH ...
I mean CFH demos were recorded in 89, and after the official release of CFH they didnt played PM songs anymore.
Talking about Pm songs, i have a complete audio record from a concert in 1988 but the quality isn't quite good but we can still listen to, they performed some stuff from PM and also from older albums as well as some covers.
Phil had an amazing voice, it was like Rob Halford combined with James Hetfield, but as soon as he started really touring with the new Pantera it got worse and worse and worse. But he is best known for his screams of the 90s, the screams without tone. They are badass, I must admit, in songs like Hellbound and stuff, but I prefer his earlier stuff, alot of people dont, but I do ^^.
great songs, thanks for posting.
