I am glad you let them go. I also live in Miami and most keep them . The cold took a brutal toll on them than add how countless catch and keep them to eat and the population is now in real decline and FWC is not going to restock them ever again.

Hi, I've been trying out the canals here in south florida, well I live here actually, in Homestead. I have a nice spot to catch bass but I have been dying to hook up with a peacock, do you know any canals near the homesated, florida city area?
a number of those fish were caught flippin a small live shiner. I use a Mustad size #2 hook and clip a small splitshot right above the hook. Also try a small bucktail jig or small rattletrap on the bedding fish. They cant stand it.
