World War 2 Tunnel Sydney Harbour

Nice vid! That tunnel you entered has been blocked off & cannot reach the emplacements above the cliff. That small tunnel with steps is actually the 'duct' for a cable that ran across the harbour during WW2 to detect submerged submarines, there is a matching tunnel across the harbour at Greens Point.

we have these tunnels every were in Australia from ww2 there is even one from Darwin to Adelaide.Most of the puplic dont even know about them

Actually I did a tour of the entire tunnel system when I was a child it is amaazing how many tunnels and how big they are. The navy base at balmoral does tours regularly Cheers Darroch

Mate it is hard to see but there are stairs in front of us which go up to a series of tunnels and gun turrets built into middle head the navy base at Balmoral do tours very cool stuff all built during WW2
