I love to Fox Hunt for the ride. My horse really enjoys the scenic landscapes and interaction with other horses and riders. Where is this hunt at? I would love to bring some students and my horse out to join.
The hounds are trained from puppy hood to ONLY chase fox. The properties we ride over have given permission to the hunt to do so. We also maintain and repair these properties, as well as host annual functions for our "landowners".
(The Hunt Staff carefully controls the pack during a Hunt and prevents them from going onto property not open to them.)
The Field tries to keep our yakking to a minimum, with help from the Field Master. We yak when the Hunt is over and we are back at the Breakfast.
What's to stop the hounds from chasing a cat? Or a squirrel? What's with cruising all over farms/front yards/back yards of other people? Seems like much meandering and yakking. On pricey and very attractive horse-flesh. Oh well, it looks like fun. At least you enjoyed yourselves, gorgeous country .
It looks like you updated the music comment, Patti, except for the comment about Mitchell Pavilion. (I don't think Schubert will be showing there anytime soon! LOL) I tracked this down to Schubert, also, specifically, his "Marche Militaire". I love that piece and somehow classical music seems right for fox hunting videos.
@TheRealCatnut Sorry to just jump in here but do you have any idea what your talking about? There is no ban on fox hunting thank god. You know why? Because the fox in never killed. I mean I'm sure sometimes the hounds find an ill one and kill it but 99% of the time the fox is fine.
To MrLovesit2 and TheRealCatNut: we do not kill the fox here in the US, we "chase" and the hunts actually care for their foxes. So, as your mum must have told you; don't make statements about something of which you know nothing...
@MissKitty856 like i am up for huning and all that after what mess a fox makes of my chickens but i use a rifle to kill but seriously u just chase the foxes and dont kill them seems abit mad to me really
@TheRealCatnut Actually, foxes have been observed to be enjoying the game of chase. If they don't want to be chased they merely have to go to ground, and the hounds are pulled off to find one who does want to play.

@pattiofdarkstar - Oh, no, I much prefer THIS music. My old brain just can't place it anymore; I used to know it well. Mozart or Beethoven, I think.

This music is by the Moody Blues?

Hey! That woman at 1:44 looks like one of the models in the Horse Country Life catalog. Is it?

She could be- we all shop there...

Do you know her well enough to recognize her? Go to page 81 of the 2009-2010 catalog and see closeups of the model.

"Actually, foxes have been observed to be enjoying the game of chase."
Are you really that stupid?
At least here there is now no chance of the "hunting" ban being lifted.
One small step for civilized mankind.

I'm not sure what your comment meant...( your name is a little scarey as well);
but we "chases" not kill, also if the Foxes don't want to play, they stay in their dens...they are loose, wild foxes.
