@Mairloes really,hate them? that's a bit strong.. there are other, more harmful ways that people can be ignorant. not knowing what some random politician said about irrelevant subjects isn't one of them. i choose to not watch the news because it doesn't give me relevant information for my own knowledge. but i'm on the internet all the time and if there's something actually relevant and important i find out about it that way. i made this video for fun, don't take everything so seriously.

You should follow the news in some way, but in this video you only talked about watching shows on the internet. I always watch the news and it's more than some boring bullshit, it helps me "understand" the world if you get me. I'm always on the internet too, but in my opinion internetnews is way too much focused on what Justin Bieber does right now etc. :(

@Mairloes i guess it depends where you're following your news:P i just stopped watching actual television because of all the stupid shows that were always on. that way i can choose what i watch on my computer. same goes for news. i can choose what kind of news i follow. i couldn't explain in the video, because again, i made it for fun and it would've made it too long. i do know what goes on in the world but i like to tune out all the horrible deaths and irrelevant politics , as they make me sad.

@Mairloes The "news" help you "understand the world" only in the way it is most useful for the elite. Read some Chomsky (eg "Manufacturing Consent")! Or Bourdieu (eg "On Television"). That's for the corporate news. Some better news can be found on the internet, or at least this makes better news out of what corporate news agents collect and may only publish in censored pieces, readymade for the sheeple. Also, MUCH more important than news are always good nonfiction books, including REAL history.

@itekisan True, I really like history books and seeing how history repeats itself, or relates to things that are happening now. I know that the news on television is partly for entertainment, as it mostly is about disaster and all the damage, but in my opinion it's the easiest form of information to keep myself up to date.
