  • this is just sad to watch. it shows how religious faith is simply fear and superstition. Doesn't need to make any sense, as long as i suck up to the man in the sky

  • atheists completely misunderstand the whole interview from comments left and continue to discuss the god that doesnt exists its painfully laughable

  • what an imbocile dawkins appears in this interview still bewildered totally unknowledgable still hasnt read the bible well done howard for remaining the nice calm well mannered gentle man that your faith has made you compared to the irritable bad tempered aggressive mr dawkins who can barelt hold his temper what a vile little man richard is

  • Assuming that Abraham existed and the story was based on some event that happened and seeing as though the manifestation of God is coming from his own mind, it was in fact Abraham's idea to kill his own son. At least he managed to snap out of it before he actually killed him. Or perhaps it would have been better if he did. How many people would follow a man that murdered his own son???

Oh, the irony of the fools. They know not what they do.

  • @nogodism what a childish inadequate comment from no knowledge at all be quiet and dig up some fossils

  • "Why didn't god just simply forgive our sins if that's what he wanted to do?"I haven't met a single christian who can answer properly for that question. The story of Jesus doesn't make any sense at all...

  • @DeterminationForever because satan prevents it gets in the way we didnt need forgiving until he made people disobey simple so jesus has to come to take on satan and sheild people from god blame satan not god

  • The more I research and read the bible.. The less I believe. I come from Christian background.. But I believe in truth. I don't believe in anything that can't be proven. I also don't feel I'm wrong for NOT believing in something that is not fact.

  • @DowntownVeiw take the bible for what it is a story about a chosen people who never matched up gods word remains good advice most of the bible should be taken as what not to do or how not to be simple

  • obviously richard dawkins doesnt have the intellect to understand the bible thats why he resorted to evolutionist religion

  • @justaffsian01, Atheism is a religion in the same way as "off" is a TV-channel.

Or Atheism is a religion like abstinence is a sex position.

  • @nogodism well you cant discuss god because you say there isnt one atheist talk a hell of alot about this god and his religion which they say doesnt exist so you need to f--- offf and abstain from discussing what you know nothing about you are nothing believe in nothing and nothing to contribute to the god ,religious or faith world so abstain from involving yourself

  • wow these things i knew in primary school class one

  • what an idiot basic stuff adam didnt scrump an apple satan tempted eve to eat it which was forbidden by god eve then gave it to adam read it dawkins you thick ignorant nasty man

  • why did man torture jesus is the better question

  • and dawkins comes from an ignorant position of admitting he has never read the bible for himself he obviously works from word of mouth

  • god the one that stopped abraham killing his son as it was a test of his faith belief and obedience izaak was never going to die abraham was chosen by god for a purpose and was tested izaak lived hitler the atheist showed no such concept

  • @justaffsian01 So,... you say in the same sentence that God stopped Abraham killing his son, but didn't kill Hitler? What kind of moral God is that?

  • Poor chap. Destroyed by his own analogies. His head is just something to put his hat on.

  • I'm surprised Dawkins gave this ignorant man, the time of day. Quite odd.

  • Wow that was painful. I havent seen a one sided fight like that since i punched out my neighbors 5 yr old girl and stole her bike. Bravo Richard bravo

  • they always set up no nothings against schooled nwo disinfo you will never understand !!

  • when you start to think and gain information thats when religion steps aside.

  • Howard Condor is well out of his depth ...thankfully there are many more Christians able to defend the truth of Jesus Christ more adequately than him.

  • @daleyboy77 Fun comment. "truth"

  • This fellow, Howard Conder, probably has a wiring fault. That happened a long time ago in his life, as a teenager maybe. . Rather than he talk about the content of data 'in' his wiring he needs to think about his wiring superstructure; this fellow is only talking circuitously, P.Dawkins would have to find the comma in Conder's story and open-up that part of Conders story. . He is doing it but the Conder needs coaching in something like, a bigger picture; such patience. . . Cheers. from, del-boy
  • "Well Paul invented it, so I presume he would." LMAO best line ever.

  • 2:28 Dawkins' face sums it up pretty well. Conder's cornered, so he starts making shit up.

  • god is all powerful, all knowing...therefore he would know if we would sin...and he'd punish us for that? I mean, God would get mad at us for doing what he knew we would do since before time began? And that's freewill? bullshit.

  • I just never got this, even as a mythical doctrine. Yeah, 3 days of hell sucks, but it's not an eternity. And Jesus was only dead for 3 days! A lot of parents would be willing to ship off their kids for a few day! How's that the same as your kid dying and being gone forever?

  • Kidding himself.

  • Honestly couldn't finish the video. It's like Shaq having to take seriously a scrimmage with a five year old.

  • "That's a very good question" fucking imbecile....

  • Apologists, seriously.........your almighty god could not forgive?

An almighty god, who has the power to manipulate the physics of the universe but can't forgive? Has the ability to impregnate a women without even touching her and can produce himself, can't forgive? The omnibenevolent, omnipotent, all merciful can't forgive?

Pshhhh.....of course he can't forgive, he doesn't even exist.

  • science dont have all the answers then dawkins says in the full vid we go to theory is not theory made up lol theory covers alot of science does it not

  • @love3peace3truth3 Do you understand the word theory in a scientific context?

  • @kusalaviro based on fact until proven otherwise ? something like that i looked it up thanks,if it means something else it should begiven another word lol but i guess its still a theory because "there is no 'proof' or absolute 'truth' in science"q

  • @love3peace3truth3 Not quite right. A theory in science is like a formula in maths. It explains the facts, which on their own tell us nothing. You're right there's no absolute truth, we only have the scientific method to lead us towards our best attempt for truth.

  • @love3peace3truth3 You don't understand what a scientific theory is.

  • @Ltblac your right i didnt lol.A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. A theory is valid as long as there is no evidence to dispute it. Therefore, theories can be disproven. Basically, if evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, then the hypothesis can become accepted as a good explanation of a phenomenon. One definition of a theory is to say it's an accepted hypothesis."wouldnt it be a gd idea not to call ita theory

  • @love3peace3truth3 The first sign of intelligence is an admission of ignorance! You must be one of the very few people on the internet who actually is willing to learn something, and therefore, one of the smartest. Thank you for your honest answer!

  • Lol Paul inventet it :D sweet<3

  • 9:35 "A life for a life" = Stone age morality!

  • This is so funny! Dawkins is the man!

  • Adam was made perfect but he ruined it all.... hmmmm does that not make him NOT PERFECT?! dumb ass...

  • Oh God... The God believers are clearly severely brain damaged beings (either physically or emotionally). May their God help them. I was watching this whole interview on Youtube and this man (Conder) suddenly went from sounding like a genuinely, fairly reasonable man (albeit a theist) to someone who sounded like a kid having his candy stolen from him; that would be the time he started explaining his belief in God or his faith. The instant he started that, I was shocked.

  • Richard dowkins you are the best of the best . Religion is the cancer and the biggest Magic of all time.....

  • Boss.

  • Although saints do not exist and have never existed, Dawkins undoubtedly has the patience of one.

  • 1.40 "Bruised in the heel" means you will be put to death and resurrected? Wow.

  • in the very end 10:03

Dawkins: but you had some other questions, didn't you

    conder: Yes we didn't

  • I actually feel sorry for that chap, because he seems so nice and just wants to believe what he's saying rather than actually believing it ... the human mind is just amazing how it'll help you cod yourself ...

  • Why isn't there a cross spinning around in the background too? :)

  • This reminds me of when I ask my 5 year old daughter to tell me a story. She creates characters and settings, and I ask her questions about them. She makes stuff up as she goes along and it's really fun.

In this case, Howard Conder seems to run into deadend after deadend, yet tries to talk himself out of it by validating the absurdity of the bible. It's embarrassing and funny.

  • I don't understand how Dawkins ended up on this show. It's interesting to hear him but he is wasting his time. It's hardly an intellectual discussion. On the one side we have a sincere but woefully ill-informed and sentimental religious sop and on the other side one of the world's leading public educators who frankly looks bored with the whole thing. I doubt if anyone watching this learned anything new or was convinced to change the view of the world they had at the start of the discussion.

  • "That's a *very* good question."

... Yes, yes it is. Please answer it.

  • Conder made two comments I have been hearing more often with Christians. He said he was a "simple man" and "don't judge my intellect, judge my heart". Both comments are anti-intellectual and asking or not wanting a rigorous questioning of his beliefs. Nope, not going to happen?? Black, white, less educated, college educated or anyone who is watching YOU TUBE - Here's one message: Be honest and free to ask hard questions. This would improve our world in the direction of something we all want.

  • So at around 1:48 his idea of a prophecy is Jesus dying for our sins then someone then much later writes about how "someone" is going to die for our sins...and this is apparantly a fufilled prophecy?

  • How does perfect Adam fail a test? He is perfect he must pass the test, if he fails, he cannot have been perfect.

  • @0:49 "...he [Jesus] had such compassion."

Luke 19:27 "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

  • As an Atheist...I used to think Dawkins was a bit too unnecessarily "in your face" with the religion issue. That was of course before I watched his videos and the people he deals with on a regular basis.

  • If Adam was made perfect, why was he disobedient? Why did he sin?

  • @ThatsLeoYKnow God fails making perfection...... time and again.

  • 5:43

  • Biblescolars please!

  • this howard conder guy creeps me out! religion is absolute insanity

  • My heart is for pumping blood. If thoughts start coming out of it, I'm going to a cardiologist.

  • "It's not a debate when one side is a bunch of crap." Bill Maher.

  • @knwitham no it was an interview thicko

  • It is almost painful to see the man squirm trying to answer these simpe and logic questions. If he has any intelligence he probably went home that day, had a sleepless night and got up the next day being an atheist. Bravo, Richard!

  • -let's talk about genesis

-ah yes, abraham. what a horible story

    -ok, let's talk about jesus

-the idea of sacrifice is horid

    -let's go back to genesis

So many times when someone points out something bad about beliefs the theist will change the topic or at very least talk about a different element of the story

  • I'm sorry but the belief system outlined in the Bible is ... the type of mental gymnastics the believers must go through to justify their crazy beliefs...Christianity makes no sense whatsoever, also Evolution is a theory of science! I don’t BELIEVE in evolution. I accept the scientific theory.

  • ha ha ha" if you look at it initially like that".....If god was giving Abraham a test wouldn't the correct answers be... NO god I will NOT kill my son!

  • @heathsawyer LOL that would be the correct answer if the Bible described a moral God.

  • Man he got him so fucking good at the end. We all know the saying "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Take it one step further and you have this idiot choking on those words. Man you can just see it in his eyes that he know how insanely wrong he was when he said a death for a death. WooooooooW - I love it!!!

  • Fuck his heart. I love how Richard isn't indecissive, doesn't even lean a little bit both ways. Plain and simple knows your dead wrong, and will not back off. He has 0 doubt in his mind about god and the bible - as do I. The other guy clearly can't back his shit, you can see him waver. There is nothing harding that standing your ground - fuck his point of view if your's is 100% right. Sometimes you shouldn't see from the other view when you feel that strong in yours.

  • Oh dear this is so sad. This poor man (Howard Conder) is such an idiot.

  • "That's a very good question"... they love that, don't they?

  • Comment removed

  • "Well, Paul invented it, so he would." Hahahahahaha, I love Richard.

  • "Do you expect me to be impressed?" Lol! Go Richard! :D

  • dawkins in fact I think changes this man point of view,

  • He's quite clear, there's not much to re-read. As brilliant a biologist as he is, once he starts writing philosophy, he's clearly inept. Sophisticated atheists are quite embarrassed by him, and rightfully so.

  • @penilicious hi there, I'm really interested in the point you brought up about how to ground morality.

I've found watching richard dawkins' interviews on youtube to be fascinating and I am surprised to see that you claimed that he was not supported by other atheists. Can I ask why other atheist would consider him/his arguments inept? and whether you could give me some links to investigate.

    Cheers.

  • @dynamicaction100 The 4 atheists I mentioned are viewed by other intellectual atheists as an embarrassment because the arguments they focus on are irrelevant to the existence of God, they are primarily focused on attacking the morality of the Bible which is irrelevant. Dawkins is also fond of the genetic fallacy, which he puts this way: "if you were born in this part of the world, you would believe this instead". Even if I grant that it does nothing to show that God does not exist.

  • @dynamicaction100 As a Christian, I don't follow any atheists in particular, but I have seen countless debates by William Lane Craig, a Christian apologist. He has said many times, that he prefers atheists schooled in philosophy, as it makes for a better debate, but he welcomes Hitchens, Harris, Dawkins, etc, because they give him a bigger audience. The intellectual atheists use much more sophisticated arguments. I don't have any names at the moment, but I can dig them up for you.

  • Because Dawkins is wildly inconsistent in his books. He claims morality doesn't exist, which he clearly states in The God Delusion, but then immediately after that, he makes all kinds of moral judgments. Why? Because morality does exist and we all know it. The problem is how we ground it. Dawkins can't with his worldview and so he claims morality doesn't exist, but he can't live that way, or argue that way, and thus he contradicts himself.

  • @penilicious You need to re-read his books.

  • @penilicious he says that he doesnt think that there are 'absolute' moralities, he doesnt say that morality doesnt exist, read the god delusion again

  • @newianpaice Fair distinction, but that implies moral relativism or subjectivism. In other words, they may as well be arguing over their favorite flavor of ice cream.

  • You're missing my point. I'm not arguing that morality comes from the Bible, or that I don't know right from wrong. You can't define morality by joy or pain, it won't work, any reflection on that and it is obvious. Also if two people have conflicting moral ideas, than who is to say who is right, if that's the basis for morality? You can't respond with "it's common sense", or "reason or rationality" as they are grounded in nothing, other than random mutation advantageous to survival.

  • @penilicious you can define an aspect of morality by will this action cause harm if it does I think we both can call that immoral. To your second point no one can. I think religion appeals to people because it teaches absolute truth. Your truths are true to you, can I say your wrong and then say because god said so. would you take my word for it? the basis for morality is personal, I don't have exactly the same values as my parents nor they of theirs as you learn and grow you live your morality.

  • @rotay85 First off, I'm not arguing one needs religion to be a better person, or that one needs God to be moral. I can read without believing in authors, it doesn't follow that authors don't exist. I'm not arguing for any particular religion, or what someone needs to behave well. I am arguing that the materialistic, molecules to man hypothesis leaves no grounding for morality. It's the age old problem, you can't get an ought from an is, from a moral perspective from naturalism.

  • Respond to this video...I'm saying that if naturalism is true, there is no basis for morality. If theism is true, there is. Saying different people have different ideas of morality doesn't do anything to advance your argument. For example, I believe abortion is wrong, many people would disagree with me, so who's right? You can't just say "if you're against abortion then don't have one", for if I were to use a paralel argument substituting slavery for abortion, that negation wouldn't work.

  • @penilicious I think we just need to agree to disagree I think your arguments conridict one another. You ask where morality comes from I said from you. Your first comment took a quote from TGD which does not say anything about Mr. d not believing in morality which if you watch his video's you know is false. I only responded to you because on what you said about Mr.D I need not respond specifically to the video because the Jesus freak was destroyed. Mr. D has a right to judge the bible as we all

  • cont' because there's a human interest at stake again if you watch and listen to him speak he explains why it is important to discuss and critique all bibles because they make no sense. so to answer your initial question and I'll leave it at this if you believe he doesn't believe in morals why wouldn't he criticize them? it seems rather like what one in that position would do.

  • I don't need the bible to solve those questions and neither do you if god did design the universe than his power is mediocre at best. If you can't find purpose in setting goals, making friends, the passion of a lover, ect. than I feel sorry for you. If you can't realize an action that will cause either joy or pain than you've never experienced either. The bottom line is morality comes from within , you need not put stock in a book to define them, just trust yourself .

  • @rotay85 Anyone can invent purpose, but ultimately, the universe is destined to die, so on the atheistic perspective, while it may be satisfying to live a "decent life", there is really no ultimate meaning whether I live as a Stalin or a saint. In the end, no one will care or remember, all life will perish, and there will be nothing. If there is no purpose to the universe, and it will end, then it follows that there is no purpose to your life. You're merely deluding yourself by creating one.

  • @penilicious I think that to believe in a god that loves you...so on and so forth takes a lot more deluding to believe than my point of view. Honestly if there is a god I want no parts of him he acts rather like a child in my view. But lets say he does exist only atheist would get into heaven all religious people are only righteous to get the big payoff in the end and you can't say otherwise. atheist who are good people are not looking for a reward much more "righteous" if you ask me.

  • On what grounds does Dawkins morally criticize Christianity from a moral perspective? Dawkins denies morality even exists, but spends so much of his time criticizing the morality of the Bible. Also, neither Dawkins of Conder seem to have any understanding of the trinity whatsoever.

  • @penilicious Um I'm sorry but your totally misinformed Mr. Dawkins plainly states morality does not come from religion, and there's no reason to think it does. Like he states if you believe in the bible "what kind of morality is that?" the bible is the most wicked, discriminating, chauvinistic, illogical, book in history and has absolutely no basis in fact. If every religious book was destroyed would you suddenly go out and rape, murder, and steal?

  • @rotay85 “there is at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil and no good, nothing but blind pitiless indifference” Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion. On what grounds then does he judge the Bible, or anything else for that matter? If he's just emoting, or giving his subjective opinion, it's irrelevant, by his own school of thought.

  • Great Job Dawkins.

  • Fuck! Mr. Dawking is fat as fuck here!

  • This guy is possibly the most stupid person who has ever lived and managed to get on TV. Jesus and god may have had a conversation before coming down from heaven..LOL and WHY DO YOU SAY THAT!?!

  • Dick Dawkins Master of the Universe does not have a leg to stand on re morals.

How many wives? The latest model Lala an ex Dr Who side kick, being Mrs Dawkins must be quite a come down for her. This old guy is an oil slick of a human being. His little army of disciples wetting themselves with excitement every time their leader insults someone too polite to punch a pensioner. He should stick to tending his roses and oiling his zimmer frame.

  • Poor, poor Howard Conder. He really is out of his depth here.

  • I know why Dawkins does what he does, but it still hurts my head to think he has to face the same ridiculous argument from a ridiculous story book. Adam's sin, Jesus performed miracles, God is perfect, it would do my head in no end hearing it over and over.

  • God set up the system. He could just forgive. Instead, he needed to have a human sacrifice? Any human sacrifice is disgusting, not beautiful.

  • "I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." - Gandhi

  • @SeedsOfHatred nice quote. That legit?

  • @someonetoogoodforyou As far as my research has shown, yes. Of course, another wise man once said:

"The problem with quotes on the internet is that you can never tell if they're genuine." - Abraham Lincoln

  • @SeedsOfHatred hahahah. legend

  • I love how he's so eager to change the subject at the end.

  • Comment removed

  • It's trying to have an argument with a schizophrenic.

  • This is an argument between common sense (Dawkins) and someone who is easily confused and so desperate to believe that he will ignore reason. It's very, very sad that people can still think like this in this century.

  • OOOHHHH IT BUUUURRRRNNNSSS--IT BUUUURRRRNNNNNSSS LIKE ACIIIIIID!!

  • hahhahahahahahhahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • If Adam was "perfect" why was he disobedient?

  • we shouldn't persecute people of faith ,.. we should Execute them!!!

Do not support christian sodom & homorra, everyone must eat his own bread.

Charlatans must work--money should go to poor & homeless, to those ,who are

victim of nature distructions & not able support themselves!

If you know any christian charlatans, prostitute and beggars,

who want steal your blessing, just lazy parasites eating your hardworking money...., send them away .

  • This poor Howard Conder can't even make sense of the nonesense he chooses to allow himself to be indoctrinated into. it shows on his face, the doubt is coursing through his intellectually lazy mind

  • Howard Conder "please Richard, see my heart NOT MY INTELLECT" kind of sums it all up very nicely

  • ironically Richard Dawkins *is* God. funny world eh? :) I absolutely <3 Dawkins!

  • Dawkins, the man of super-human patience.

  • @stojadinovicdushan da ali dawkins lici kao da ce svakog sekunda zvati ovog idiota ono sto jeste

  • "Why did Jesus have to be sacrificed?"

    "Genesis...."

.... uhm, I think you just missed my point

  • hahaha Dawkins face at 5:42 is classic. i've seen it in a few videos and i laugh every time.

  • 8:44 i find this is a typical response to someone who is closed to new information. they just keep regurgitating that same info without addressing the new point.

  • I like the calm and respectful manner of this debate. We really need more of this.

  • If adam was perfect then why was he disobedient?

  • @MetalMusicAtheism what bothers me is that dawkins failed to mention this point which occured to me the first time conder said it.

  • @theID2 That did piss me off a bit. I think he would have destroyed him right then and their.

  • The only way the sacrifice of Jesus could make sense is if God was looking for forgiveness from humans.

  • @RiverMath wow i actually thought that too, and people looked at me like im an idiot, thats a very good point

  • my brain hurts from listening to this poor sick delusional man... Dawkins, give him pills and stop talking to him...

  • I really don't see how this Conder guy doesn't understand what Dawkins is saying >.< it's not like it's an overly complex idea :/

  • Comment removed

  • why you hating on the Christian guy? at least he's not a complete toss pot, he just has a different belief

  • @ToastyTomatos no, he actually is a complete toss pot

  • @wearestarstuffsagan oh... well for now I'll take your word for it, but he doesn't seem aggressive or as full of himself as some christians

  • @ToastyTomatos definitely not as bad as some christians, still wacky though

  • @ 4:35 "Being that God is the way he is??!!" LMFAO. How the fck can you KNOW anything about what God is? EVERYTHING one thinks or says about god HAS to be made up within ones own mind, or what you've been taught.

  • heal the sick raise the dead? i bet he had never been to africa.

  • @FrostMan92 god works in mysterious ways

  • @wearestarstuffsagan much like a psychotic murderer

  • Religion is total garbage. Criminal enterprise...

  • The video should be renamed "Richard Dawkins Schools a Fucking Wall."

  • @SonOfNye Sir, I've known many walls. That man is no wall. I am deeply offended by your comment. Walls offer better support, have more uses, and don't spout stupid shit. Please I ask you refrain from insulting walls.

  • All of us have few genes from our parent father and the MOTHER. SO if Jesus`s father was god (perfect being) and his mother was Mary ( imperfect being) Than Jesus simply could have not been perfect.I love Modern Science :D.

  • If Jesus died for my sins, why would I go to hell if I committed sin? Wouldn't that be punishing two people for one sin?

  • @butanerios Exactly! If the bible was true then we could all sin as much as we wish, its already been payed for? Kinda like a pre-paid debit card! Let the fornication begin!! Creationists are idiots!

  • I usually see Dawkins talking to generally intelligent people, incredibly deluded, but at least able to mock up some guise of a defense for what they believe; I could get a toddler with ADD to maintain a cohesive thought better than this airhead.

  • This guy can't defend even one of his arguments.

  • and why would be at fault for my father's sin?

  • I watched the whole thing in another vid, and it's just unbearable. Poor Dawkins, having to be polite to this braindead moron. The worst part is when the guy recites his looooooooong, spectacularly unimpressive story about his revelation...Dawkins can barely stay awake, but at least tells the guy at the end he is deluded. That was being kind. Religion turns people into mindless idiots.
