Ya the RS7000 is pretty killer, and for the extra $150 I think its def worth it. Besides I already have the ES-1MK2 and the effects on it are not that great, especially the reverb, and I have heard likewise about some of the ESX's effects. I know that Yamaha is good at creating effects along with reverb, delay, etc. And it would be nice to have a different unit/sound to add to my ES-1 and EA-1. Thanx for the help. Keep rippin on that machine.
@drum4life42 You mean each section has a different set of parameters or you can record and automate effects? If so, you can do both. There are 5 "memory recall" buttons you can assign where you set the parameters you want..then whenever you hit one of those buttons it sets everything back to that preferred setting. This is really helpful incase you tweak something and it doesn't make the sound you want so you can reset it, or have different loaded parameters for different sections.
@drum4life42 Did a little more research on the ESX and found a major flaw in it. It's still an amazing machine so not to discredit it at all, but there are no built in instruments you can play in the box. You can only sample audio into it and manipulate what you've recorded. The RS does all the sampling goodness, but also allows you to create your own synth/instrument/bass etc... riffs and record those all within the box. bc of that, I would def recommend the RS
Pretty killer track man. I was debating on either getting the RS7000 or the ESX. Im a hip hop artist as well. Have you used the ESX before? And what would you rate the RS700... /10?
@drum4life42 Thanks! I've been using the RS7K for a few months now and I am officially done using DAW's. I used ableton before, but now after seeing how intuitive the RS is I'm officially sold on it (besides anyone can be a laptop producer). I haven't personally used the ESX before but I have heard a lot from it. There are a lot of similar features so either way you can make it do what you want it to. I suppose its like Ford or Chevy..I have to recommend the RS bc of the ease of use (cont..)
@Cr125rmxr and amount of internal instruments there are. I love the tweakability of the machine, you can really twist up sounds and also resample it back into the box. The slice feature for sampling is really great as well. There are different settings you can pick to chop a sample depending on what you want out of it. The piano keys are closer to a real piano layout, and also serves as a rack to trigger different patters. Most reviews give the RS the highest score you can, and I will agree! RS!
@shadowmixx Thx man! Yea that camera really squished the sound, next one I'll record into my computer then just sync up the video to the audio...
The instrumental is all done with the RS, no samples (except for the biggie sample, and that was just for somethin to play with..it wont be in the final mix). The more I use the RS, the more I love it! If you're still looking for a sequencer/sampler...I'd def recommend one of these over the 505!

Thanx... another thing I was wondering was. Are you able to change the effects perrameters on a per step sequence??

I see U rockin' that Yamaha RS7000. Thats a nice piece of hardware
I hear the compression from the camera, but the track is still dope.
Is that one of your original compositions or did U sample a track and chop it up in the RS???.
