why does this sound different to the one on the dyno if thats the same as the one on dyno i just sent an email inquiry... for my Holden Torana in Australia
yeah im running approx 12:1 with my 383 with steel heads on 94 octane, but ive done a few tricks to prevent detonation, IE elec fans and 160 thermostat. also ground the top electrode strap on the spark plugs round so there are no "corners" to heat up. Im probably using 15-40 oil with a zink additive, havent mad eup my mind yet haha
Hey cool motor I purchased a motor from Proformance as well. Only diff, from yours is i got the 475hp I have a recent video posted up of mine in truck, and ill have more videos of mine once i let things seat in motor.
I have a question for you. Why set the clearances loose to run 20w-50 when you can set them up a little tighter to run 10-30 and gain some power, Also, why are you running this engine so cold?? i mean, 160 is nowhere near the Needed Temp to make some real power (190 imho is about perfect with a cool intake charge)... Just wanted to know..

I put 6 inch rods in my 408 sbc and she screams nicely. Also using the dart pro one platinums, roller cam/rockers. 10.5 cr check it out.

Heavier oil reduces windage, lower coolant temp keeps motor out of detonation with pump gas and decent timing
