This is a train that is hauling equipment to put in a new track between Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO. The big cylinder in the middle flanked by the red support arms is a welder that contact welds whole sections of tracks together with the lights on the side for the workers to see at night. The Train engine is so large because it provides power to the giant welder.
DAMN that was a big ass car! Too bad the power SUCKED but then again BNSF has a huge boner for those crappy ExplodingShit44s that are UGLY, sound like shit, have shitty horns, catch fire/explode and can't pull worth shit!
Wow, that was Huge, but also Strange? I have never seen an Over-Sized Load like that before, it looked more like a Circus Train with the lights & flags on it, haha? Thanks for the video!
The SD40-2 has had its day, but the GEVO is good. Great a/c, good ride, strong dynamics, and they will pull. The SD40-2 is only rated for SD40-2 and the ES44AC is rated for 75mph. The SD40-2 has a short time rating of 5 minutes at max. amps. The ES44 can pull till it stops. The ES44AC can hold a train still on the side of a hill in power and a SD40-2 will burn up the traction motors trying to do it. While the SD40-2 was king of its time, it has given away. Ride one and find out
Well they might for the most part, but sveral times we've had coal trains stall in the spoon river valley and with GEVOs for power. Infact back in 2007 they added the BNSF 1069 to the train for a push and it blew it push motor so a load behind w/ 2 MAC's left its train and the MAC on the fron had to push it over the valley. Then when the MAC went over the valley it made it. Im not saying the GEVO 100% shit, Im just saying the SD40-2 is the best and is more reliable.
Very nice. What exactly was that thing? I noticed that it was made in Canada by Hooper Welding and handled by Specialized Transport, but what in the world was that and who is it for? Thanks.
what dose it crary?
