My mother dates Loretta's ex husband, we were over there looking at kittens and I have seen first hand the hundreds of dogs in cages from wall to ceiling in the basement. The reason she got her house out in the country is because outside city limit's there's no animal by laws on how many you can have. If he actually had done research he would have found out that the pug is a breed that requires a LOT of screening before breeding so as to rule out genetic problems that could occur due to their unique body and face structure. There are two very distinct differences between rescue dogs and "new" puppies bred for sale in a store. Rescue dogs are already here, already born, there is nothing that can be done about any genetic defect or health issue they might have other than to treat it if/when it surfaces. Breeding dogs without health testing produces dogs with health issues. Big difference.

Rescue dogs are constantly around their rescuers, so they if anything, they would be able to tell you the temperament of the dog compared to a pet store that is mixing breeds and claiming that ALL of the dogs have a great temperament.

I'm pretty sure that the people who have worked tirelessly with rescue dogs would be able to tell adopters about the temperaments of the dogs. They are put through compatibility tests to make sure that they are safe to be placed in homes. Also, purebreds aren't always predictable in temperament just because of how the breed is "supposed" to be. Especially when they are bred by irresponsible people like Loretta.

The condition of the dogs may be well and good considering pet store owners can pick and choose what puppies they want. They are condoning the support of puppy mills. You say the dog did not come from your home but did you sell the dog? This is terrible, but I feel I have to say, you are rewarding that dog for spinning by standing there feeling bad and then petting her. You are not to blame for causing this condition, but it will NEVER get better by rewarding it! This dog doesn't ONLY need love, it needs leadership as well, and to learn to walk next to or beside the handler on a loose leash, so it can drain its excess energy in a positive way (ie not "walking" the owner). I know that would go a long way to helping the dog!

We were only trying to get her to stop otherwise she would spin until she vomited. We only had her the three days she was missing, she is now back with the owner. The dog also needs veterinary care but will likely never receive any.
