Thanks for the comment, I had the guitar going into my Dunlop 535Q wah and then to the Boss OD-20 which added a little bit of drive to the amp distortion (it sounds different to just turning up the amp gain) then into my Peavey JSX head which is on the crunch channel with moderate gain, in the effects loop is the GT-8 and that was adding a bit of reverb and delay. Nowadays I use stomp boxes rather than the GT-8 as they sound better and don't require programming of any kind! hope this helps

There isn't any alternate picking runs in the song, so I did mostly downstrokes because they have more power, and yes i do know how to alternate pick!

Thanks for the reply .. I set up my rig as per what you said , but all the amp controls got paralised . As in apart from the master volume and the master presence no other amp control was working including the foot switcher ..

Hey .. I just bought a krank krankenstein+ amp and i have a GT 8 and a tube screamer OD pedal .

I new to using amps and need some help for wiring up the whole rig.Could you please run me through how i could route the GT 8 the OD and the amp using the front and the fx loop of the amp using the GT 8 as a noise suppressor and fx unit ..

hey,

what you need to do, is use the '4 cable method' which means ure signal is :

GUITAR-- (if u want your OD before the wah effects then put it here)-->GT-8 'input',

then 'GT-8 fx send' -- (if u want ure OD here then it can be after wah -which is where I had it) -->'input' on krankenstein,

then 'GT-8 fx return' ---->the 'fx loop send on krankenstein'

then 'left output of the GT-8' to the 'fx loop return on krankenstein'.

On the GT-8, make sure u have the wah, od, distortion, compression BEFORE the 'fx loop', when u move around effects in the 'fx chain' view on the GT-8 and have delays, reverbs, choruses etc... after the fx loop. For the noise supressor, have it as the first effect after the fx loop, so it removes power hum --don't have the noise suppressor after reverbs and delays, as it will cut them off!

I found that it didn't suck any tone, but I've recently put it in the fx loop and there is absolutely no hum coming from my amp, even at high volumes!

hi guru, putting that gt-8 in your jsx loop is no doubt sucking alot of your amps tone, try the jsx dry and you'll hear the difference,

i could but the distortion is coming from the amp head, so all the gt-8 is being used for is a bit of delay and reverb so you won't get anything like the sound you hear in the video.

I would definately recomend it, the neck and the tremolo are great, i've not found a better neck to play on yet and it's great having such a light-weighing guitar that still sounds good.

Then the Boss GT-8 is in the fx loop which is used only for time and modulaiton effects-not the preamp or eq. its in the more info bit to the right ----->

i had the same problem, but you just do a pinch/artificial harmonic on the open G string and with your left hand, pull down the whammy bar.

sounda like you are using the gt-8 distortion? you should use the amps its much better

i'm using some of the jsx's distortion on the crunch channel and then an overdrive usin the boss od-20 but i didn't really benefit from the jsx as it was at quite a low volume when i recorded so the distortion sounds a bit kinda compressed
