  • The design is completely controlled by the car makers. They make the car use gasoline above 45 mph speed range automatically instead of allowing the driver to decide it. Otherwise, you can haul some extra batteries behind sharing the main battery's load with a single wheel truck which of course would allow space for luggage as well for a longer trip. The single wheel truck can be balanced with the electric car, right? If not, how about a two wheel truck then?

  • Cool Video!

  • mazda should break from ford. id love to see a mazda-designed tribute. maybe one a bit less round.

  • the outside isn't as jazzed up, but they do have the best looking symbol. it's the cheapest of the three for the same car, but most likely because they didn't redesign the outside of the car much, just refine it's look.

  • its a ford exploder built by mazda, but i believe gets better mpg, and cheaper

  • no, its a ford escape, with a mazda decal on the front

  • SWEET!!

  • looks like ford gave mazda their hybrid system

  • No. Toyota gave Ford their Hybrid system, and Ford is using it in their Ford Escape, the Mercury Mariner, and the Mazda Tribute. They are all the same vehicles, just rebadged.

  • you mean ford stole it or borrowed it?

  • Get your facts straight. TRW held the original patents to the PowerSplit HEV confioguration in the mid 70's. Those patents have long since expired. Ford designed and engineered their own system. They hold over 400 patents on the technology. You dumb asses!

  • The big hero insults total strangers in the safety of anonymity.

    Pathetic.

  • It's really a nice car, should help cut emissions, but still not as good as a pure compressed air engine. (Do a google) I'll stick with electric for now.

  • Es muy bonito, tipo gran Jeep-Chrisler, pero...como puedo conseguirlo en mi pais (españa) si oficialmente no lo venden?

  • the quality in the interior is a desaster ! its typical american cars !

  • is that what it is?

  • It's not an electric car. It's got a gas engine in it that needs oil changes and servicing and spare parts and fuel. Buy it and you're still chained to the oil industry and the reason behind the Iraq invasion.

No thanks, I'll have a pure Electric! :)

  • They need to regulate the industry, and make the naming correct. This is at best a "hybrid drive train vehicle" because it doesn't use hybrid power, it gets all the power from gasoline. And they are trying to make it some big deal by calling it a "hybrid electric vehicle," instead of "hybrid gasoline vehicle" which would be much more appropriate.

  • Well said! Hybrid vehicles, at best, are just a token effort. The oil industry will never allow real electric vehicles, hence the scrapping of the EV1 and Chevron buying the rights to the nickel metal hydryde batteries so Toyota and Honda couldn't continue with their electic SUV's. Screw the oil companies! I'll keep experimenting with HHO units thanks.

  • Thank you! What the major auto companies aren't willing to do the new upstarts like Phoenix Motorcars and Tesla will do - produce and sell zero emissions electric vehicles.

  • yessss mbolgian (If you havent realised i'm patronising you) (TTS)

  • i like the front

  • go head be go

  • That face is ugly, but other then that it's a nice car.
