  • Where do I get that Soldano IR? I need one for the AxeFx, sick of using the preloaded cab sims. I want to have an IR that sounds like my Soldano dammit!

  • @PatS1t Why not actually record your own cab's response and deconvolve it? The soldano impulses I used here are just Poulin LeCab's defaults. Besides that, redwirez include a slanted, eminence-loaded soldano, if that's what you'rer after.

  • @vinta9e Because, I have absolutely no idea how to do that. And I have shit recording materials and space (I'm currently in a concrete basement with plywood floor on one half). My cab is the Soldano 412 Straight, with the Eminence Legend V1216s, so anything that would sound similar to that is decent.

  • Dude, where did you get that Orange IR at? I have the Red Wirez set, and most of them sound good except the Orange, which has a really fizzy top end. Yours is smooth. WANT!!!!

  • thats the wrong marshall listed though

  • marshall end of story

  • engl sounds scratchy... I'm surprised, but imo Marshall is the best

  • mesa and engl wins !!

  • The first one sounds the best by far.

  • Marshall Wins!!!

  • hi, I would like to know if there is the list with thes impulses you made, I would love them, thanks so much, and keep it up

  • Also, is the mic setup the same on each cab?

    Good job

  • @zdfhjk of course not. Some of the impulse responses of these cabs were captured in a different room, with a different mic, using different mic preamps and interfaces, as well as different poweramp driving the cab

  • @zdfhjk as for the Splawns, there is a phase issue going on, hence the hollow sound. They are top quality hand made cabs that sound great, it's just my negligence that made this simulation sound this bad.

  • @vinta9e Ah, I didn't realize you captured these IRs yourself :o That I totally respect. And fair play with the Splawns, hope you retry them sometime

  • @zdfhjk I did not make these IRs. I got these Splawn impulses from a forum member and just used them as they were. I did not realize they were incompatible with my impulse loader. I've managed to fix this issue and now they are usable and sound great. I will try to use them in my next upload so why don't you subscribe. Thanks!

  • @vinta9e Done ;) Looking forward to it

  • The Marshall wins my vote easily, can't really go wrong with that sound... really dig the Ampeg and Soldano cabs too. My least favourites are probably the Spawns, no body to them... not keen on the Engl sound either, nasty high end

  • amazing how just the different cabs with the same v30s sound so different

  • Its hard to pick which one I like..... The Mesa sounds very Kerry King like

  • Diesel first Soldano Second Marshall third

  • well, yeah, the Krank's quite nice for such a dark sounding cab. Surprisingly it does not disappear in the mix. Vader & VHT impulses would be great to have and would surely round out the collection on the 'Eminence hemisphere'. cheers.

  • Wow, I really didn't expect to like the Krank the most out of all of them. Muscular and controlled, though I could see *some* complaint about the mild lack of upper midrange.

I really wish this included a Vader for comparison.

  • think i liked the diesel the most... the splawns sound ideal for death metal too

  • Try my IRs of a Mesa OS Rectifier cab. Search "God's cab" on youtube or google, they're free.

  • weird how different the Marshall and the Orange sound meanwhile they have the same speakers??? are you sure this wasn't a Marshall 1960A Cab?

  • @randolphleblanc It's not weird, it's rather obvoius - these cabs sound absolutely unlike. Please note the Engl, the Diezel, the Mesa and the Ampeg run Celestion Vintage 30s as well.

  • Framus and ENGL wins, best video on youtube ever!

  • @PabloDarioLi Lol, thanks :D

Honestly, I am quite disappointed with these two here. But you should hear my new Cobra preset - that thing roars like a diving Messerschmitt.

  • Peavey and Marshall do it for me. The Orange is pretty good too. To me they're the cabs with the clearest and better distributed sound.. punch bass, defined highs and a good frequency response for mids

  • @mindwalkr Thanks for your comment.

I like how the Marshall fills the spectrum. the Peavey fits in mix nicely too but it is just not my sound really, too grainy in this example. I love how the Ampeg has Marshall-like treble and Peavey- or Mesa-like bass. The Orange is an awesome cab live but here it shows too much boomy grunt. I prefer the Krank for those darker tones because of its clarity. My favourite overall would be the Diezel if it werent for that ugly resonance at 600Hz

  • awesome!

  • @deedoubleohdoo Thanks for watching : )
