'Mamãe Eu Quero' is a typical 40's Brazilian carioca (RJ) carnival song made by local composer Jararaca & popularized by RJ-raised singer & performer Carmen Miranda (she was just 10 mths-old when she came from Portugal). The girls in the video sing in Brz Portuguese (with a very obvious carioca accent).

Portugal in all that plays no role at all besides being the incidental craddle of Carmen Miranda, a Brazilian Portuguese singer & speaker.
