kids put pottassium permaganate, aluminium and sulphur together all powder (i dont remember now the analogies) put it in a small container like a matchbox, wrap it around with a lot of insulating tape, open a hole in the matchbox and place a sparker in it so it touches the powder...light it and run

We did this some years ago. Explosions was very loud.. :)
