  • Awesome work Ozzy! (can I call you Ozzy?)

I just bought a VariZoom Avaitor MX. I love the thing. I've 1 issue with it. I bought because it had a larger dual articulated arm. And now I'm wishing they offered a smaller arm for thight locations like in the restaurant scene in this demo. I find that I'm bumping into things. Or is it I just need more practice and maybe marking my spots? Any comments?

  • Hey there. Congrats on your stabilizer. The scene in the diner was done on an Arri 35mm camera in 2.35:1.

But if the project was on digital with a smaller cam, it could have been done on the varizoom. The only thing that would have been hard is the first spin to the left with the quick lockoff on the girl in the yellow sitting at the counter.. On bumping into things, Always walk thru a shot first, ALWAYS. you can't rush a good shot with a stabilizer, and place your marks accordingly.FLYWELL

  • Hey Osvaldo, It was a pleasure talking with you yesterday afternoon. You've inspiresd me to greater heights in my quest for video perfection. I hope to take one of those weekend steadicam workshops soon. If you ever find yourself in the Los Angeles area, please call me, we'll have some coffee or a drink and talk shop.

  • Looks really good even when running in the hall.
