@minesdecarli Its a Heritage-made in the what used to be the (original) Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The company was founded by ex Gibson employees.
Dude I love how you take care in explaining every little bit of these licks and certainly its helped me a lot. I ruled a jam session at a graduation party last summer. many people were impressed. thanks much.
Thanks fififififi, I took a look at that site you reccommended and it was awesome. Some of the videos on it are so helpful. Anyone else who might be interested go take a look at MYGUITARGURU (dot) INFO
I really love the way you mix minor and majors together. who are a few of your favorite blues men of all time, that have been some of your biggest influences?
I really like your solo lessons but the only thing is, me and my band we play rock/indie/britpop music so a bluesy solo will randomly fit a song so my question:
In the future, are you coming up then with some Rock solo lessons ?
Well, if you're more in the shred side of things, but want to still sound rock, try to listen to guys like Michael Schenker or Uli Jon Roth, maybe you can "steal" some ideas from them :D
marty. my thanks to ya. always being so generous. you do a swell job. thank you. I just got a looping station yesterday, so I can finally do these little things on my own and it's a ton of fun! thanks again
i have a question marty or anyone who knows why did marty say the b7 chord in Embellishments could be thought of as a major chord does that have something to do with like 1 4 5 chord progression and sorry if i messed up the number in the chord progression
Happy and Healthy New Year Marty to you and you fam! You are making the world a better place by vastly increasing the number of blues guitarists on the planet. When you play the minor pentatonic with the root on the A string-is the pattern always the same as when you start on the Low E? I recall a lesson you did where you used the D minor pentatonic starting on the A string and the pattern was different- your pinky was on the root and the next note was first finger on the G string. Thank you!
The rest of the world is buying liquid refreshments for the evening's festivities and you're working. Take a break, Marty! It's time to party, celebrate the successes of the past year and look forward to those of the new one coming up. Prospero anyo, dude!
More mind expanding, face melting, better-than-cool lessons from Marty just make my day.
Unlike most, your lessons teach how to use the information to be creative on your own and not just repeating some 'boxy' pentatonic lick that everyone and their dog has heard a million times.
I can't thank you enough... I'll be investing in the DVD lessons as soon as get my grubby hands on my tax return.
Beautiful tones. Can't wait to practice this.

What do you use to record a backing track? At 0:18 you step in a pedal or something to stop it? What is that?

Joostbeers 2 years ago
Hey Joostbeers, what you have to understeand is that blues and rock-pop have a lot in common.
Apart from some rare cases when you use modes or minor scales, for the most of the time even in rock or pop you use pentatonic scales.
It'a all 'bout the choice of the notes, you can put them in a very bluesy way, ora you can create some great pop and rock lines :D
samanosukkia 2 years ago
Aah okay, Im not much of a good 'solo inventor' then :P
Because when I use 'these notes' I never end up on a shredding rocksolo, but that also could be me ;)
Ill give it another try, thanks for the comment ;)
