  • Janis, you were with us for such a short while. Fabulous voice great songs. Before she hit fame and fortune in Rock she was one of the best folk singers who never got any exposure for her work. Listen to Blowin in the Wind here on U-Tube. Truly beautiful. Farewell, Janis. All of us who listened to you as we grew up will miss you forever.

  • Janis did some recordings with this band ( Cannot remember the name of the band right now! Drats!) But this isnt the "version" I had growin up. This is somethin different indeed. Same band- different take or performance. Love this. Just when ya think youve heard everything the woman did.....wow.....thank you so much for posting this. x PEACE "Jenny"

  • Could be she's singing over or to a recording.... Not to hard to do even then.., She couldn't of afforded a big band to back her back then either..

  • @Tonestar521 Nope she actually sane with this band for a very shhort time. Probably for the few recordings . As Ive said here - I cant remember the name of the band. Id have to look it up in one of her bios I have. But it was a real band. She was very very young and drifting around Frisco and singing in coffe houses n whatnot - before she became famous- before she went back to Texas after that first try in S.F. Its lovely tho isnt it?

  • @NoRosesForMe Cool, Thanks' for the great back ground info.. It always helps draw a better picture' of who the artist is, In this case, was. "Time lines, friends, the where and when's, etc. of her life brings me closer to her and the kinds of music she loved & eventually evolved herself into creating the story line singing style & music of Janice Joplin .. And yes, it is lovely.. I was lucky enough to see her once, but I was just a kid of 8 or 9 in Montery. Thanks again. T.
