  • Must be a Kiwi flat white...Aussies don't need knives and such to hold back foam, if it's textured right, just a straight pour job will do..

  • @s2stuges Definitely not a Kiwi flat white, this guy is just a cock.

  • lol...thats a rubbish flat white... in fact ... doesnt even seem like a flat white lol....

  • Man I love flat whites. I'm actually addicted!

  • dude, stop using spoon or knife to hold back the foam,

  • Ok, u shouldnt post this video, coz it clearly shows u got no idea what u talkin about. I mean knife???? WTF is that? Use the steamer properly, and get the right texture. I'm a barista, I know what I'm talkin bout.

  • The real skill comes in making a skinny flat white. I have one nearly every day and the Costa baristas till me it is the most difficult drink they have to make.

Fortunately of all retail staff I have come across in the UK, Costa staff are the most helpful by a mile. Nothing yet nothing is too much trouble. Not to mention the lovely welcoming smile you always get.. I tried Starbucks once but found it to be very poor.

  • @IMMEDIATESITE so, after knowing your drink is a pain in the ass, you continue to get it? Just saying.

  • shouldnt be holding foam back with a knife or a spoon, should form the milk to 80 then steam to 120 this gets the right texture.

  • im a barista and this is just fail

  • :D:Dbullshit:D:D if u are a barista u should know how to texturing the milk to make the perfect flat white without a knife. they have to learn much

  • I agree a proper barista would never use a spoon or a knife, it's just that he doesn't know how to make the micro milk! If you're milk is slightly to frothy for a flat white, if you get rid of half the milk, what you have left should have the right texture.

  • a true barista would never use a knife or spoon!!! bad video!!!!!!!!!!

  • any 'barista' holding back foam with a spoon or knife simply doesnt know what they're doing. harsh...but true.

  • so true, but it is much easier

  • not harsh. IMO they failed.

  • @daveoxxxx Exactly..! They simply don't understand coffee while trying to make the best coffee possible.. ironic but true.

  • @daveoxxxx Exactly~! They simply don't understand coffee while trying to make the best coffee possible.. which is pretty ironic yet a lot of the people are doing it.

  • @daveoxxxx I wish more people knew this especially some cafe owners :( some times they're like used the spoon and i'm like but i can do it with out it :p

but i guess back when this vid was loaded the techniques weren't as technical as it is now

  • @daveoxxxx the pitcher is also ridiculous. embarrassing.

  • Does a "Flat White" have the same amount of milk as a cap. would have foam (and milk) but using the same type of milk as you would for a late?

  • Recently visited Auckland and found your great cafe. Every flat white I had in New Zealand was excellent.
