Its fitting the first half of the song is missing, something only the ones who were there will ever hold. The rest of us are INFINITELY grateful for the good fortune this was videotaped, thank you! Sometimes I vividly dream that I travel through time, but its only in theory. The world couldn't handle more beauty than reliving moments like this secondhand. It would be too intense, let me sleep on the internet, that's enough for me.
This is crazy! I love the Release Me version from this show. Black is their best song IMO and top 5 rock songs all time IMO too LOL. This is great but I still say the MTV Unplugged version was the absolute most badass, live, passion filled- Vedder- at his bestest performance ever.
god dammit Pearl Jam is good, no, the best band ever. their longjevity, consitency, talent, uniqueness, care for their fans, their love of music over money or fame, their energy...everything adds together to be the greatest american band ever, and possibly the worlds greatest.
Right, as I noted in the Even Flow (Soundcheck) video comments, between the soundcheck and the start of the show I had an opportunity to chat with Eddie - he was actually pretty sick, toting around a box of Kleenex. When I asked them how long they had been together he drew a long, contemplative breath and finally said: "six days..., this being the sixth". There were probably about 10 or 15 other people in the building at the time.
Thanks to everyone for all your kind words. I was the one holding the video camera... Good to hear everyone has enjoyed a piece of rock history that I filmed (and was ripped off). See my full comments on the post of Evenflow (soundcheck).
Think I live one version then hear or see another one. They fuckin all are great. wouldnt kick out of my bed for eatin crackers
