She is trying to be healthy. It pisses me off when people say "I liked her when she was fat...she was keeping it real" (etc.). She was keeping her health in danger, and she has tried to correct it. People should support her for it. It's the same thing with Star Jones. People get angry when she isn't the big black woman stereotype like on a syrup bottle. She is still thick anyway, but she looks better and is healthier now. Go Mo'nique!

The thing with Star Jones was that she didn't want people to think that she had surgery to correct her weight problem, when it was obvious that she did. She would pass it off as a "medical intervention". She seemed to be so concerned if people liked her or not (which not too many folks did anyway). But she should have just said, I had surgery. No one would have cared if she did or didn't if she told the truth from the jump. But because she tried to hide it, that's why she got the backlash.
