If the guy could shoot worth a darn, then it wouldn't take half a dozen shots to kill the beast. Using a sufficient cartridge like a .470NE along with proper bullet placement is good sportsmanship...not acting like he-man and taunting a wounded animal. Of course, he's a hunter, so he has surely killed animals for fun in the past, but in this case he had no other option, fun or not.

Do they donate the meat, eat it, or just leave for the hyenas, lions, and vultures? I could see leaving it behind for the carrion eaters since cape buffs aren't endangered or threatened.
