  • mpc500? i have over 30 analog synths and had all mpcs and many akai samplers. the 5000 sounds most rounded and warm of all sample engines. of course you don't have to agree with me ;)

  • Real shame Akai are not around anymore. Numark, the company who purchased the name AKai have diluted the brand substantially with cheap, half assed gear such as the diablocial mpc 5000. Numark made the worst DJ gear (always to be avoided) and pretty much everything else they made was shoddy. A real shame they ended up with the brand

  • @harrymerchant456 cant agree on the mpc 5000. it has the best sounding sampling engine I've ever heard.

  • @Jauly Please dont talk nonsense. Clearly you have no experience with any other samplers. The MPC 500 just samples and when you try and get it playing multiple sounds at the same time the sound turns to pure mush. It adds no character or nuance to the sound. Its pointless defending Numark. They have always made crap stuff, and always will. I suppose their best products are their controllers but the quality of the build is a pure joke to behold.

  • we missed Akai & Emu

  • This is played completely on the z8, yes? Did this sample come with the sampler on the hard drive? Thanks
