Just got the 360 version, it's an impressive piece of software to say the least. I'm amazed at the quality of the visuals while maintaining a rock-solid framerate. Pretty impressive given the fact that the 360 is in the seventh year of it's life-cycle.
This. Game. Blows. Ive played it for like an hour and im already sick of it. Spend your money on something actually entertaining like skyrim, borderlands, or fallout.
I wasn't too sure about this game at first, thought it looked like another Fallout 3 rip off but i tried it round a mates house and it is an excellent game. Some of the most satisfying and hilarious shoot outs i've had in an FPS for ages and the driving is pretty much my Mad Max dreams come true.

Not to mention that extra authority security wall located next to the swamp in the first waist land. I mean why is it there and why can't i get through it?

pass this game fails at all levels. You spend 40% of your time driving 50% of the time on load screens and 10% being extremely disappointed. You can in now way compare this hack job to fallout or bioshock. The game is VERY short when I saw the credits I thought i missed a level nope that was it. Above average AI??? we must have played a different game bad guys appear in same spot every time. if you enjoy mindlessly holding down the trigger and running then buy it

The textures are UGLY and are usually streamed right before your eyes. I.e., if one were to slowly move the analog stick in one smooth motion, you would see the clumsily designed textures loading from low-to-hi resolution.
Rage, like Doom 3, is an absolute bore, and one of the dullest shooters of this console generation.

Maybe I'm just out of touch with FPS these days, but IMO, they really just need to be stripped back and rely on an awesome soundtrack (Quake II, Duke 3D, Red Alert 2) really unique and interesting enemies (Blood, Doom) and fuck off all this cinematic shit, and all these gimmicks and whatnot, that trick all these 'new' gamers into thinking a game is way better than it is.

I think if fallout had the combat like rage it would have been a little better. But I do love fallout 3 and vegas as it is. Though fallout tactics is still my favorite.

Don't compare it to Fallout 3 and Borderlands. As far as FPS games go, Rage offers more than any other we've seen this generation. The problem is you're looking at what it doesn't have compared to RPGs instead of what it offers as an FPS game.
too easy, played on normal and beat the last mission enterely with pistol and fatboys, its.. TOO easy, TWO shots with fatboys in the head and is drop dead, EVERYONE dies with two shots in the head or less with fatboys, are even better than sniper rounds.

@Kisho7878 New Vegas was better than 3. It was much more true to the series. I really like story and writing, though, which is another reason why I like it more because 3 had awful writing (for a Fallout game). Bethesda is terrible at writing, so as a compromise I think they should at least use Obsidian's writers, which are some of the best in the business.

@BskaatFilms Yes and the only thing I feel this game has in common is that its an fps. The gameplay is follows more closely to quake and doom. Bioshock does have weapon up grades but you have to find them and its a one shot deal. Bioshock gives you a secondary attack via plasmids the secordary attacks in this game from grenades and created items. there is no crafting in bioshock whatsoever, BioShock has little to no backtracking. This game is all about back tracking.
@BskaatFilms In a nutshell this is an open world quake game. with crafting and abit of racing. I fail to see any comparison with Bioshock . If Anything this game is far closer to Borderlands with ID tech engine..
im halfway through this game and love it so far no gameplay complaints. my biggest gripe is there is no dotted white line while in a mission area. they are pretty straight forward but if i get turned around while searching i end up wondering around for 10 minutes trying to find where to go. maybe im spoiled though cause the last few games had this feature. graphics,gameplay,story all great though
I love this game, good introduction to a new franchise....could lead to an open world in the future. I only say that since Bethesda has a lot of experience in RPG and open-world games.
To me this game was a test to try and blend Id and Bethesda slowly...and see what we think.

rage is good, but you get the feeling that something is missing.
it's like they built a huge rpg world but theres no rpg. empty world with no exploration to do. if you are not on a mission, you can't even explore previously seen dungeons, they will be locked, or partially blocked with nothing inside.
i love id's games, but the lasting feel is of what it could have been, not what it is.
Borderlands clone with more racing, less guns and maybe less fun.
It seems like the story was rushed to cash in on up coming DLC's. I finished the game in around 12 hours and with the side missions; 14 hours. It's good but don't believe the hype, Borderlands is just as good if maybe not slightly better,gameplay wise and definitely longer lasting,oh and the graphics are not as good as you may have been led to believe they are..... 7.5/10

This game, despite a lot of negative backlash, is awesome imo. It might not be the next Half-Life 2 but it is an excellent shooter none-the-less. People looking for an RPG need to steer clear of this one - its certainly not anyhing like Fallout 3 or Borderlands in terms of gameplay mechanics.

yes...I would say every single idea in this game has already been done with the only exeption being the graphics...they are so nice they are kinda original.

I heard this game sucked. RPGs in general suck. It maybe just me but something that doesn't flow from exciting moment to the next with great back story & takes countless hours to finish is just not for me. Racing games already take enough of my time, I don't need FPSs to take even longer no matter how cool they are. plus RPGs are kinda nerdy, lets face it lol
@ARandomAccount0 It does suck. Combat even on the highest setting is just easy and boring. IA in the game is the same from CoD and Battlefield. Nothing new. Car combat sucks. Cause it auto aims the guns. Which takes time for the guns/missles to lock on even if your on the ememy's bumber, Short crappy story. Crappy voice acting and poor dialog. Buggy.
Problem is for this game they spent 95% of the budget on the graphics and then slapped everything else together at les min.

If you wanted a Fallout 3 game in scope and freedom I understand the disappointment.
Yes, it's on the easy side, but it's still a damn fun FPS - and contrary to other FPS' of recent years, it's not over before it begins.

simple answer would be developers make the game, publishers do the finishing touches that allows it to be distributed.

@GlimboWow25 forget about horse armor,the fact is that bethesda & bioware makes the best dlc(& the best games too)no other developers put as much effort as they do(most dlc from other developers are just map packs & overpriced characters,bethesda & bioware really gives quality for what you paid.)

@singaman101 I think what he meant was like they made Fallout 3. They didn't make New Vegas though just published it, thats why it wasn't as good as 3

@Kisho7878 New Vegas was better than 3. It was much more true to the series. I really like story and writing, though, which is another reason why I like it more because 3 had awful writing (for a Fallout game). Bethesda is terrible at writing, so as a compromise I think they should at least use Obsidian's writers, which are some of the best in the business.

@BskaatFilms Yes and the only thing I feel this game has in common is that its an fps. The gameplay is follows more closely to quake and doom. Bioshock does have weapon up grades but you have to find them and its a one shot deal. Bioshock gives you a secondary attack via plasmids the secordary attacks in this game from grenades and created items. there is no crafting in bioshock whatsoever, BioShock has little to no backtracking. This game is all about back tracking.

@BskaatFilms In a nutshell this is an open world quake game. with crafting and abit of racing. I fail to see any comparison with Bioshock . If Anything this game is far closer to Borderlands with ID tech engine..

im halfway through this game and love it so far no gameplay complaints. my biggest gripe is there is no dotted white line while in a mission area. they are pretty straight forward but if i get turned around while searching i end up wondering around for 10 minutes trying to find where to go. maybe im spoiled though cause the last few games had this feature. graphics,gameplay,story all great though

I love this game, good introduction to a new franchise....could lead to an open world in the future. I only say that since Bethesda has a lot of experience in RPG and open-world games.
To me this game was a test to try and blend Id and Bethesda slowly...and see what we think.

rage is good, but you get the feeling that something is missing.
it's like they built a huge rpg world but theres no rpg. empty world with no exploration to do. if you are not on a mission, you can't even explore previously seen dungeons, they will be locked, or partially blocked with nothing inside.
i love id's games, but the lasting feel is of what it could have been, not what it is.

Borderlands clone with more racing, less guns and maybe less fun.
It seems like the story was rushed to cash in on up coming DLC's. I finished the game in around 12 hours and with the side missions; 14 hours. It's good but don't believe the hype, Borderlands is just as good if maybe not slightly better,gameplay wise and definitely longer lasting,oh and the graphics are not as good as you may have been led to believe they are..... 7.5/10

This game, despite a lot of negative backlash, is awesome imo. It might not be the next Half-Life 2 but it is an excellent shooter none-the-less. People looking for an RPG need to steer clear of this one - its certainly not anyhing like Fallout 3 or Borderlands in terms of gameplay mechanics.

...and all these "special/anarchy/collectors/extreme/limited/ editions" are,if you have not figured it out yet, just a "scheme" from game developers to prevent second hand shopping of games. the moment you punch in that one-time code, you more or less forfeit the value of the game so you can´t sell it.

2 hours into the game and i think RAGE is awesome. Just like DOOM or QUAKE it´s dumb fun action. If you are like me and think of the ´80s as the action genre golden age, you´ll like this game. Don´t listen to all the douches that are dissing this game.

I heard this game sucked. RPGs in general suck. It maybe just me but something that doesn't flow from exciting moment to the next with great back story & takes countless hours to finish is just not for me. Racing games already take enough of my time, I don't need FPSs to take even longer no matter how cool they are. plus RPGs are kinda nerdy, lets face it lol

@ARandomAccount0 It does suck. Combat even on the highest setting is just easy and boring. IA in the game is the same from CoD and Battlefield. Nothing new. Car combat sucks. Cause it auto aims the guns. Which takes time for the guns/missles to lock on even if your on the ememy's bumber, Short crappy story. Crappy voice acting and poor dialog. Buggy.
Problem is for this game they spent 95% of the budget on the graphics and then slapped everything else together at les min.

@ARandomAccount0 Never played it. I own it. It a steam only game. Meaning my hardcopy 3 dvd are useless. That right even the pc verson gets 3 dvds. Yes it sucks. All my friends agree with me as well. Alot of the players have been sadly disappointed as the game got more hype then Duke Nukem and is worse then Duke Nukem.
