some laptop drives i seen cannot operate with the cover off.... that must not be one of them those require precise head alignment, like a deahtstar. its cool u got ti to spin again and run some seek tests.... thats why i like wdc... good manufacturing
I'd love to see what a 10,000RPM enterprise hard drive looks like when its running open. The head must be a blur to the eye. Was this a 5400RPM or 7200RPM drive?
I've got an old 1.6GB Western Digital drive that still runs like new even though its been without it's metal cover for years; never clicked, runs great hehe
1. For smooth playback in HD, you will need a powerful computer. Multicore generally won't help, so having a higher-end CPU will usually increase framerates.
2. For HD, let the clip buffer completely before playing.
3. Despite my personal preference for Chrome, Firefox seems to play this better.
Wouldn't it be better not to have this music running in the background, i want to hear the sound of the HDD operations.
